That actually makes the imbalanced Norsca clans sound kinda cool haha..
It sounds cool until you have to fight through 200 stacks of them...

They aren't picking targets properly when left to their own devices. If there's a choice between a target with an obstructed line of sight and a target that's in he open, my handgunners will often target the obstructed target and do nothing. This would give me an easy shot at the flanks of the enemy. For whatever reason, I can't get that shot anymore. I kinda wonder whether they changed the handgunner firing angle. handgunners die fast though, especially with good counter. but its a nice tactic to play every now and then

Is there an option somewhere to stop looking at other factions army/hero movements when its their turn? I cant find it under game settings or campaign settings, and it takes a lot of time to just be forced to watch them all move their stuff. What am I doing wrong?
|
(Assuming WH:2) there is a fast forward button under the display for who is taking their turn (as well as a pause button). It should skip movement. Just be sure to toggle it off again in time if you want to see a particular factions movement.

Thank you! That really helped me out

Next the the forward button there's a button that allows you to customize it for nations. In the same menu you can also choose general settings for allies/neutral/war-enemies, so it's easy to customize it in a way that allows you to see only enemies f.e. and skip the rest.

My cav also stops chasing for good measure, my artillery in guard mode stops firing all the time even with clear shots and often moves because on the top of the hill is a bad spot to get shots in or sth. The problems you described is also something I have with archers all the time, they don't shoot back with fire at will, they don't fire at targets that are even slightly close to my infantry even when they have a clear arc. Most of my archers tend to end battles with over half of their ammunition, while 1-2 stacks deplete and rack up over hundred kills cause the AI didn't stop them from shooting.
All of this is TWW2 exclusive and I really don't get why. Unit management worked great in TWW1.

Played ME with Empire today. After I had to beat up Leoncoeur over control of Warhammersterdam (Marienburg) I ended up conquering almost all of Bretonnia thinking I could get it on with the empire provinces through diplomacy, having established non aggression pacts and trade routes with almost all.
By the time I was done with Brettonia and made an example out of one of the Wood Elf factions (although they didn't get the point apparently) almost all the provinces had broken their pacts with me and Vampire corruption was getting completely out of control. Just goes to show that you can't leave these idiots to their own devices.
Sent Karl Franz back and recruited Volkmar to go kick some heretic ass. Shit is about to get real.

Apparently kicking the vampires out of their home as Dwarfs and making them flee north. Allows the Empire to run over Norsca. Not that the empire has a chance to expand somewhere else. The other Dwarf factions took the South of the Empire from the Vampires.
Varg was ultra strong compared to me. But by the time I drove the Vampires out of the mountains, Empire was running over Varg. Then I got the Chaos message and tried to sabotage the 10 stacks moving towards me. Of course my Engineer gets a critical failure and Empire took the Varg settlements in front of me. And I didnt wanted to make the Empire angry by trepassing. So I waited for the stacks, just to see 5 fleets move towards me from the south. Right into a severe storm. Next turn it says Chaos factions in north defeated. I have no clue what happened in the north. But something took care of 10 chaos armies in a few turns. Grombrindle took care of the 5 damaged fleets in one autoresolve. So easy first wave!
edit: Chaos armies are not build to dodge organ guns like they are Lizardmen. They just run in circles in front of the artillery, which slows them down so much that their cav is already dead before the infantry gets into gunner range.

Does Chaos also beeline for you if you're playing Chaos? I think that I want my first ME playthrough to be with Kholek, but I don't know if I should wait for some patches or not... Right now ME campaign seems way too broken and thus not enjoyable for me.

Chaos playthrough not worth it without foundation update. I suggest waiting for it. I'm on the same boat. Wanted to do Chaos run, but after all the cool adjustments they made are not getting through yet, I decided to wait.

I installed a no-chaos and nerfed norsca mod. Makes it quite playable except for the fact that for some reason everyone wants to fight me..

Everybody hates me.
After Volkmar the G and friends scorched the Eastern provinces and beat the vamps even more people decided it was fuck with Franz day. Estalia invaded the south of Brettonia together with the Fay Enchantress (whom I had left alone up until then), two dwarf factions declared war and started rampaging in Eastern Brettonia, the last survivors of Wissenland withdrew into the mountains and are trying to reconquer their former homeland, Tyrion broke his agreements with me, the remaining Wood Elf factions are confederating while becoming gradually more hostile, and one of the Northern provinces crossed the Talabac and invaded my territory.
Well Franz is having non of it. Sent out an expedition to punish those damn Southerners while he went up North to beat those idiots into submission with the help of his new friend Balthasar. Volkmar staid behind in Sylvania to beat down Vlad and Isabelle von Carstein and their shitty rebellions. The dwarfs were gonna need a couple of stacks to get rid of them.
The expedition down south managed to sack a couple of settlements and discover that Estalia is essentially a Skaven peninsula by now before finally getting cornered and being shot to smithereens by like fifteen stacks of handgunners (RIP). The North is pretty much mine now and I ran into friend Surtha Ek. The Dwarfs are probably pretty damn sorry by now for being back stabbers.
Next up: conquering the rest of the North and destroying the Norscans and Skaeling and conquering the southerb neighbours. By the time I'm done with that I'll probably will be at war with Thorgrim and Tyrion, who are power rank 1 and 3 respectively. I guess I'm also gonna have to find out if that one Brettonian colony in notMorroco needs some democracy or uhm, imperialism...

I know now what happened to Norsca and Varg in my game. Belegar send an expedition there and owns Norsca now lol.
I used the earlier mentioned reduced upkeep mod, which was really nice for the starting troubles. But now I just have to many armies to be in any danger.
Think I am going back to Warhammer 1 and Vortex campaign and wait for adjustments to the Mortal Realms campaign, that will surely come with the next race pack.

Finally completed my domination victory on hard diff with the Headtaker. Rough start, easy midgame, annoying ending because losing stacks left and right to the DE (last faction left to destroy) due to nonstop lightning strike battles from them was making me tilt. In the end I just afked for 30 turns and invaded them from Lustria with 10 stacks and from Ulthuan with another 8. That finally broke them before they could lightning strike me to shit again. Being forced into 1v1 battles vs them is so annoying.
Now the whole world tolls for the Great Horned Rat!
edit: I really wish there were more settlements with unique building(chain)s. Landmarks are fun and worth conquering for. Plus it adds some more strategic importants here and there.

Just pressed the trigger on WH2 on steam. I could not resist. The game looks too good in reviews

HAHA lol. I was wondering why everyone was going on about the insane chaos invasion. While I just beat up a few armies and all was over. So I got lucky with beating them up in one go.
