Kind of same here ; it looks quite awesome and it's fun to watch. It looks more casual and fun to play than SC2 though, and that's what I'm looking for. Also a WH game that doesn't suck and somewhat has something to do with the tabletop is an old dream of my teenage years.

It was easier for modders to polish and reveal the strategic gameplay in the past. Now, even when modders do a great job, the arcade feeling never quite goes away.

I'm gonna try just provoking rebellions in my starting settlement to farm some XP.

You start immediately neighbouring a strong dwarven hold and it feels impossible to assault with the low leadership of goblins. Not having big uns to punch through dwarven armor is also painful. Never managed to play much of R2 because fo the way the map laid out tbh. Rome 1/M2 were the best TW games imo. only problem i have now is after playing Paradox Grand Strategy the diplomacy seems kind of..lacking lol

It was more about positioning and slow strategical creep. In later games it was more blitz happy. More abilities. More chance and min/max strategizing.

You really can only play the grand campaign so many times.. Please do not mention the sigmarines when I'm around... It makes me really sad. But I agree that we need more expansions like the Beastmen. It was awesome.

Yeah I know, they are really, really disliked and made the game quite.. different.. but I just really fell in love with these models, its like Tyrael and his buddies came to fight against chaos. Apart from all the skellies stuff i enjoy them the most. Have yet to try the new wood elves though. They look neat.

I'm still kinda salty, because as a on-off painter / player who generally uses years on things, I was hoping I'd have easy access to 8th edition or 8th edition compatible models for a while. ![]()

Lots of fighting against beastmen, and apart from Cygor making my life miserable, very cool battles. They really did an awesome job, however, the battlefields that are (almost) entirely covered in forest are an instant autoresolve for me. You just can’t see shit and the option to disable foliage only triggers when you are too far zoomed in so either you play those battles with strategic map only (looks dull) or you prepare yourself for a really chaotic brawl. Playing this map with a bunch of treekin against lots of archers is fun since the forest renders them almost useless. I feel like the Woodelves need a trait that their arrows doesn't get blocked by trees because so far, their forest buff is useless unless you deploy them just at the edge of the trees. Otherwise there are just too few arrows getting through. I really didn't expected that a bunch of knife-eared dendrophile pices of shit would be that fun to play. + Show Spoiler +
