![]() For anyone who is streamer/competitive minded it's a REALLY big and unfair advantage/headstart that people who are in have over everyone else. Especially from the streaming point of view it's practically impossible to catch up now

Game specific mechanics you are a little behind but the ceiling isnt that insane that you will never catch up. As a streamer? Unless your big already your playing a lottery anyway. Either you will go big in the game and bring in viewers from that or your playing the 'be the first to stream new game X' and then you missed the boat and should have moved to game Y weeks ago.

And from a competitive standpoint...its kind of a joke, that some people will have 6 months+ practise more than anyone else. Its a pretty big deal in both. Several streamers have gone from nobodies, to pulling 1-5k viewers thanks to Overwatch, who otherwise never broke a couple hundred previously. It sucks, but complaining about it cant change anything about it..but it still sucks for certain people. IMO the saddest aspect of it... is every Blizzcon has always included some sort of Beta key for their new games for the people who attend, but this year is the first time they didnt give a beta key to attendees (that i remember), instead giving em to streamers and youtube personalities, which is kinda lame. They should be rewarding the blizzcon attendees/dedicated fans rather than people who generally dont even give a shit about blizzard titles, unless they are the new game on the block.

Most people complaining about this wouldn't have any audience either way, cause they simply suck at streaming. If you are good at what you are doing i think it's still very much possible to get decently big. Same for the competition. The mechanical part is mostly standard shooter stuff, so all you have to catch up to is the meta, which can be done pretty fast if you are mechanically good. I don't think it's that big of a deal. As i said, for the most part (there are exceptions obviously) Several streamers have gone from nobodies, to pulling 1-5k viewers thanks to Overwatch Can you name a few?

I went to Blizzcon 09 thinking I would get a sc2 beta key.... I was pissed hah. So not the first Blizzcon with no beta keys.

I've been to the last 4 Blizzcon and there have been no keys given at any of them.

A game where there are more than 15+ characters, with different weaknesses, and different maps. Yeah sure you should be able to catch up no problem. You and your "team" should be able to crank out your chemistry and strategy in no time. Taking on people who've been on the game for 5-6 months already shouldn't be TOO big of a disparity right? Like just practice Quake or UT and get your aim super super godly until your beta invite kicks in sometime before spring.
