Not sure if that would be the case if both teams would be somewhat experienced, but atm it isn't really all that interesting in that aspect.

They get through the full push and pull of a good match, but never feel like a grind to watch(or play from my viewing). I also think it encourages people to use their ults and abilities more. Rather than waiting for everyone's to be up, going and then waiting again. The way overtime works makes for some really exciting finishes. And they can build maps with longer rounds in mind.

Will they have a hidden Elo system in all public games? Seems to be the way its done nowadays sadly.

The game is very fast-paced with almost constant action so I don't think gamelenght has to be longer than that. Hm yeah maybe, personally i like it a bit longer than that though :D

The dream is to have something like the Forge in Halo or Source in Counterstrike so that you can make your own maps too but I highly doubt Blizzard will allow that(surfing with Tracer anyone?).

The MMR, ELO dick waving is the worst part of competitive games. I like the ladder in HotS, where there are seasons and its just about competing against those who want to compete. But visible MMR/ELO is fucking worthless.

I imagine they are going to have a ranked and unranked system similairly to their other games. So leagues but the actual MMR/ELO count is hidden. Dota has shown ELO in ranked play. No resets. The top list is just top 200 though, so you don't know exactly how you do unless you frequent forums/chat channels etc to find out what mmr is good/bad outside of that.

There are some stupid turrets that auto Aim instantly and when they place it on the capture point is pretty much retarded for the attacking team to break that siege.

You do it like league, SC2 and Hearthstone and have seasons with hidden MMR ranking. The Dota system isn't perfect and ranked match making really cut into a lot of the other game types.

Personally I think Dota's system is fine too but I think League/HOTS/Hearthstone system is also fine and a lot more people like that I believe.

You can say you don't like it but stating things that are simply untrue without any factual basis is just silly. Sorry but it is factually anti-competitive. It puts you at an inherent disadvantage in terms of competing. Someone with all the options open is ALWAYS going to be in a better position than someone without all of the options in a game. The only reason it manages to avoid being pay to win outright (hence the 'borderline' qualifier) is that it dances around the whole "sidegrade" thing of characters on the whole being 'different but equivalent' rather than certain characters being direct upgrades to others. I appreciate you like LoL. And I kinda like the gameplay of it too. But its got the most exploitative and anti-competitive business model in the entire industry by locking things that give a gameplay advantage behind a paywall/grind-wall. And its propagating that model (see Heroes of the Storm) which is a very, very bad thing from a consumer perspective. On October 29 2015 19:39 Kipsate wrote: That means that the model is probably just going to be cosmetics, alternate voices/announcers like Dota(which is awesome). Or is there still vagueness about what kind of payment model it is going to be? I've not watched any Overwatch yet, I've been trying to hold off until I get access to experience it myself. Is there an announcer? Announcer voice packs are awesome. I use the Bastion one in DOTA2 and I've never even completed Bastion, but that voice is just amazing.

I think in most ways to measure it will show itself to be a good game. LoL is anti consumer, I quit it due to how long it takes to unlock stuff. Normal for me in a Dota clone game is that I start with one hero, play it ~100 games. Then start branching out when I know the mechanics. After 5 days my chosen hero was out of the weekly pool and I stopped playing.

What do you mean sadly? That it is hidden or that there is a matchmaking system? Because if its the second then Oo. Do you want to ruin peoples came experience by presenting lopsided matches?

I think he means that you have to pay upfront 20$ on CSGO(but do unlock everything) only to realize its bad rather then with OW/LoL where you spend no money to play it initially, realize you like it and then pay money to unlock options. His opinion of CSGO is irrelevant but serves more of an example.

Yes please. I gave up looking for actually decent players today -- the top streamers are all "personalities". Edit: I'll start it off by mentioning this guy, although he's offline as of writing. http://www.twitch.tv/clockwork is the best Scout player in TF2, playing for the best (and currently undefeated) team. Now using Tracer in Overwatch, which is a match made in heaven. Check the past broadcast if you're bored.
