This game is going to come out at the end of 2015, or begining of 2016, because they've got the beta of heroes of the storm in january, and david kim said the beta for lotv will be in the first half of 2015, so that leaves the second half to overwatch.
Also lets remember that overwatch was titan, so they've been working on it for years, so its no wonder they have almost finished it. Overwatch reused some of the assets from Titan and part of the team migrated over but Overwatch is NOT Titan. I dont buy that for a second. Titan was rumored to be an MMO FPS and a brand new IP. Now we suddenly have a FPS with a brand new IP and its not Titan? They failed to make the MMO part compelling but instead of throwing everything away they took the combat which they found fun and removed the MMO portion and you have Overwatch. (obv only suspicions at this point but it makes to much sense to not be the case really) Heck they might have had 'battlegrounds' in already so they could have literally taken that and formed the game around it.

Most important point for me: The gun play felt really good, the movement felt really good, and the game felt super skillful in general. How quickly do people die/how many hits can you survive? Is it feasible to harass and trade some blows, then back up to heal, or does one player usually not survive a confrontation?
How much offensive potential do the defensive and support heroes have? Do they just have weak guns and almost never get kills?
How important are the skills, teamplay and objectives compared to the pure shooter and aiming stuff? On a scale of 1 (Quake) to 10 (Dota), where would you put Overwatch?

Different classes have different amounts of survivability. Tracer, for instance, has only 150 hit points and would die very quickly if focused. She makes up for that with the most absurd mobility you can imagine.
Reinhart on the other hand has 600 HP and a deployable shield that will absorb another 2,000 damage. He's not particularly easy to take down.
It is absolutely possible to play harass-centric styles. I ran around with Tracer a ton and found hit and run to be brutally effective. Even in the extreme example - Reinhart can be taken down fairly quickly if you can get behind his shield.
Defensive heroes have lots of kill potential. They're also probably the most like their TF2 counterparts. Widowmaker - sniper - tons of kill potential (charged shots, and they charge very quickly, deal about 200 damage to the body and more to the head, although I'm not sure what the multiplier is) Engineer looking dude - engineer - tons of kill potential (The overwatch engineer turret is borderline op) Robot Turret dude - heavy - tons of kill potential (when deployed he lays down so much high damage fire)
Support did feel like the least "complete" of the playable heroes. Their damage was lower and their abilities were especially hard to gauge, mostly because no one knew wtf they were doing. My feeling is that organized teams will be made much better by good support play, but there was none of that at Blizzcon.
I'd say Overwatch lands slightly closer to Quake than to DOTA. Maybe a 3 on your scale. It's a FPS first and foremost, and it feels like a pretty good one. That said, the skills are absolutely crucial to success and players will have a very hard time taking objectives without good team work.

as u see there is support its kinda obvious the diecams u saw, is prolly staged, becuse what is the point of support if u burst players down in a second?
i did not play it but having supportclasses that heals, is utterly useless then so expect it to be moba:ish, one player can kill another but not in a flash second.

There's actually quite a few FPS dota-esque games, with classes and everything. They are usually made by small indie companies though and never really took off. On a scale from 1 (TF2) to 10 (Dota) they usually landed around 7 (dota gameplay except its fps) whereas this game looks more like a 2-3 (tf2 gameplay but with ability based heroes).

It's fine, I'm not begging Valve to change it, but it just feels... off? Like, I feel like I don't have 100% control of my character.
That's interesting, could you elaborate? For me TF2 was one of the few games where I actually feel like I DID have full control of my character, when I don't in most games. Counter Strike Source is one of the others. Though not CSGO, that felt awful.
I think its something to do with the source engine but amongst the significant number of shooters I've played including major names like CoD, Battlefield, Crysis...they typically feel quite floaty and unresponsive to my mouse movement. I never feel like I can get it to aim or move as I'd like compared with TF2. I try to point and shoot and it seems like the aim just will not remain consistent (and yes, I've got mouse acceleration turned off, so I don't think its that).
Some of the few outside of source I've liked were Natural Selection 2 and Titanfall was ok (original NS was pretty nice as well). But in general most shooters just don't feel quite right. Battlefield was probably the worst offender for this.

Might be the quality of the net code.

The cartoony over-the-top artstyle looks damn cool. I barely play any FPS and am getting hyped.

One thing I would like to see in this game is a specific team combo bonus. EG; in the cinematic you see Reaper & Widow versus Winston and Tracer. Maybe add some kind of bonus if you party with someone who 'meta' teamplays by picking synergy characters to give passive bonuses in the matches. IE; at the start of the countdown and/or during respawn/repicks an announcer that says "SYNERGY" and a short description at the top of the screen saying 2 (or more) characters (enemy or friendly) saying the team or just the synergized characters now have +1 base movement speed, +1 armor, +1hp, +1 ammo, etc when they are together fighting in proximity (possibly noted in game as a highlight around the characters) Just little minor boosts that promote teamplay and/or offer incentives to friends to play as a team.

Overall, maybe I'm mistaken but I thought that we've never been informed about any other new IPs than Titan. It doesn't make sense that they would have two new IPs the whole time when only mentioning one.

I don't mean to single you out, but I keep seeing people saying MOBA/DotA, but I think that's totally inappropriate. When I gave my first impressions, I too mentioned DotA/LoL, but only because I was referring to to playable characters and skill slots. As far as I'd say, the only thing similar to a classic MOBA that this game has is the plethora of playable roles, and lack of skills on each hero.
Any real/classic MOBA in my opinion is defined as having NPC soldiers and/or neutrals, as well as level and/or equipment progression; without that it's just inappropriate to say something like "it has MOBA aspects" (again I'm not trying to single you out, it seems to me that many people have mentioned this).

You have a world, a story, you have art assets and character riggings. Combat/abilities/classes in place.
If you decide the switch from an MMO to a teambased FPS you dont wanne throw away the story you have so instead of the npc's in the world you make them your player characters. You might have to make up a few more to get a good roster. Give them iconic abilities, partly taken from what you already had, make up some more as needed.
The mini-game aspect isnt that illogical. We can assume Titan learned from WoW so battlegrounds existing is not far fetched.
Ofc this makes it all sound a lot easier then it will be in reality but it is imo not a far leap at all and pretty logical if you cant make the MMO aspect work but have an otherwise functioning story and shooter.
You know, kinda like Destiny :p

I just hope all weapons will require manual aiming like in any good FPS and that movement abilities will work on any part of map and not just predefined spots. Like if you see a ledge and aim well you can get to any part of that ledge not just one middle part.
