I personally find it pretty forgiving given you cal hold S and spam right click the whole time i normally get away. You do need to crossfade into speed and amp it up if you arent full hp when first hooked though to avoid follow up

The game seems polished but I quickly lose interest and go back to SC2. There is nothing to do except running around shooting at things and trying to avoid being hit.

It seems the only games that can hold my intrest is SC2 and GTA.

Still Overwatch is more fun than MOBAS, I find playing any MOBA to be as fun as watching paint dry.

You can turn off skirmish but unless you know every map like the back of your hand I find it beneficial. You can sometimes find different paths and jumps you didn't know about previously.

You can turn it off. It's nice at first to explore the maps, and the environments are beautiful. But damnit, sometimes I just want to open my loot box.

There are different variations of "fast". Fast can be referred to as the amount of shots to kill someone, it can refer to game-lenght, amount of actions or to the movement speed/movement- abilities of heroes.

In terms of movement I think this game (generally) is more comparable to COD than Quake.

Tried the game because my friend wants to buy it.
Sorry but this is born to be a free to play game. It gets boring too fast.
Glad he doesn't want to buy it anymore.
The rounds are too fast.
It's a game to casually play once in a while and I would play it if it was f2p.

I can't see myself watching this as an eSports game

I think most people understand that this will suck as an eSports game. Anyway it's just for other people, people will still play this. TF2 worked for a long time.

There have been successful spectator experiences made from competitive team-based FPS before. Why exactly would OW be much different?

Last time I argued that OW faces a lot of challenges as a spectator sport, some people argued that because it will be supported by a developer, it will flourished despite its inherent spectating difficulty.

I still think OW will not remotely be as big as estimated for a spectator game. Its map-design lends itself to spam-like projectiles and maps that are KoTH are unnecessarily close quarters that muddle strategic depth.

A lot of the maps are designed with such a basic cheapness to it. Always a "tiny room" with multiple entrances to give semblance of a forced confrontation/contestation, but in reality; it just hinders half the abilities in the game and free movement. Compare that to TF2 like CP_Granary or CP_Badlands

That's a pretty incredible first capture point.

Both maps have both close-quarter second points, but their first main central point is open-spaced; plays to the advantages of a lot of key classes (especially 6v6), but also hinders some movement for other classes to create situations.

That said, TF2 suffers the same line of issues taht Overwatch has, it's inherent for these kinds of games.

I think simply having a dedicated obs will do wonders for OW spectator experience. I've said it before but I think even 3 observers would be optimal and allow production to switch views. So far I think all the OW tournaments have been two guys casting with one of them also being obs. We know from Starcraft's early days that being a caster and observer detracts from both.

nah its the constant action, leaving no time to explain it right. Most people can't keep up, thats why they complain or don't bother trying to figure it out. And thats completely fine.
I fell asleep watching some CS rounds its interesting but only in small doses for me. While I love watching Overwatch especially Seagulls stream, as he explains his play when he has time for it.
But yeah it won't be "we can do that better" Hearthstone. Or Action Movie Dota/LoL/CS, where you have a slow build up and then a giant explosion right before you fall asleep.
It will be a video game. Never a dull moment.

Competitive matches do have a certain amount of downtime since it is usually an "all die, all respawn" cycle unlike your average quick match which is a zerg. In most matches I watch there is enough lull in the action between action-oriented bursts to talk about what just happened.

I suspect my issue with the game has to do with my non-attraction to most major FPS games. I have no experience with COD/Halo/Quake/etc. The only multiplayer fps games that have ever held my interest were America's Army [Which is a highly strategic game with low twitch factor and more about moving through the silence listening for opponents] and TF2 [Which didn't have battlefields that felt quite as chaotic, since the levels were much smaller than Overwatch's by my estimation, and thus far more predictable]

It's not the FPS part that is not watchable IMO. But whatever, we'll see.
