Probably not the only one. I am on the can't get enough of it side. And I usually dislike team games, because I feel like I will be a burden to the team. But maybe its because its a beta community, those are usually way better. I just want the downvote system for other Blizzard games lol.
Just imagine you could downvote in HL in heroes *-*.
Can't kill the Genji. They will just get another support lol. Well it helps that Zarya Shields are currently bugged. So there is not much that can protect you from a Genji dive.
I've got another newb question. I understand that OW and other FPS games handle player action and interaction differently than RTS and MOBA, in the sense that everything you do is instant on your screen in OW but what you see isn't necessarily what is actually happening, whereas in RTS and MOBA everything you do is delayed but you see the same thing as other people in the game and you see what is actually happening. I hear of people complaining about OW because things don't actually happen the way they see them happen and it's confusing. Is it really unplayable for a game like OW to have things be like RTS and MOBA?
The only FPS I ever got really good at, like could play good games with pros, was Halo 1 (and I know that's not gonna get a lot of credit from PC gamers) and the latency was how RTS and MOBA is. You could feel the delay on your own screen but what you saw was what actually happened. I felt like this was good because I could get used to the latency and adjust my play based on it and it was playable and not frustrating, although there is an objective disadvantage to having higher latency. For aiming, it basically felt like all the projectiles were slower so you just had to lead off more. Same with me playing SC2 on the Korean server now -- it's an objective disadvantage against lower latency opponents but at least I can get a feel for it and adjust and actually know what's going on.
Literally unplayable? Nope, even though reddit and others would've you believe otherwise. Frustrating? Definitely, currently even when everyone has pretty low ping the game has very lenient lag tolerance which allows you to example hook people who see themselves behind a wall but still get dragged to roadhog.
Blizzard hasn't commented much on server performance but the game is in closed beta and the servers are probably not at the same level they'll be when it launches.

You should read again. Open Beta is 5 days from May 5th to 9th. If you pre order, you get an early access to open beta which is May 3rd and 4th, so you have 7 days of "open beta" instead of 5

I think he was joking in that he'll probably get a beta key right before they go to open beta anyway.

As I did with Heroes and Hearthstone, literally like a couple weeks max of closed beta before everyone else got it anyway LOL

You still see the MMO roots of the gamein this. But it procedually got better during beta. But server connection or well a bad computer can really hurt you. (Or if you think 30 fps is enough and use high graphic settings) Its an issue for reactive play, as you have to use certain things proactively. But its nothing that they can't balance with buffs and nerfs.
For example the hook is so frustrating because they had to make the hitbox of it so large. Which makes it easier to grab people around walls. But thats tweakable.
Imo they keep the servers this way atm, so they can make the base game work for console in the best way possible. Since those are rather weak on the frames per second side and will have the most issues in this regard. For PC they can just tinker around as they wish post release and crank stuff up. Not sure if they will do it.
They might want to look into the tire though. After a few wall jump bumps its usually 5 meters further ahead then most people see it.

if you have a substantially higher ( 50% or more and we're both over 20ms ) latency you are at a disadvantage. if we're both below 20ms there is almost no advantage for either player. The exact situations when low latency presents the biggest advantage are explained in the video.
Overwatch uses interpolation and lag compensation.
