Atleast if Reinhart blocks for you, you can't see much. Alone your pretty much just a bad 76. Also Mercy can't guardian angel anymore towards dead teamies, because people had issues discerning dead from alive teamies. Nerf because people are blind, feelsbadman. Kaplan said yesterday that they will probably revert that Mercy change since it wasn't meant to affect her power. If it's such a concern they should make it into an option toggle where new players can take it away if they want to.

![]() who woulda thought CS160 would come in handy when discussing video games ![]() https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/3u5kfg/everything_you_need_to_know_about_tick_rate/ and then here is a nice video explaining lag compensation it'll be interesting to see what the tick rate is for the final full release PC version of overwatch. It will be an indicator of how serious Blizzard is about making this a competitive title.

It's always amazing how Liquid forums pretend that being serious about making competitive titles is remotely relevant to anything.

No, Mike Morhaime is a CEO who has practiced buzzwords and marketing speak. The fact that you take his word at face value says a lot more about you than it does about him.

he is an engineer, coder and company founder. not some cookie cutter MBA guy like EA has spouting bullshit. The guy attends GSL events... Does the big SC2 reveal in Korea... etc etc etc. so when the leader of the organization says its vital to all their game development.. and Blizzcon is the culmination of a year of competition in SC2, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and WoW i'd say competitive play is important to Blizzard game development. and that is how its relevant. your comment is so far out in left field its silly.

SC2 is an exception, and the only game Blizzard has truly released with the intent of professional competition. And in the next two expansions, the competitive features were minor (limited to a handful of new units), while the casual, single player and team-based multiplayer had major overhauls and feature additions. Hearthstone is a prime example of a game released with accessibility, playability and non-dedicated play in mind, considering the highly competitive genre it was matched with. WoW is a perfect example of what the general strategy of Blizzard has been (and, IMO, should be): player interest and fun first, competitive play once the base exists.

thanks for acknowledging the competitive aspect of the majority of Blizzard titles. glad you can now see how competitive play is 'relevant to anything'.

Well, since we're clear on how little it takes for a game to be "competitive", you'd agree that tick rate isn't relevant to anything, right?

It has almost nothing to do with skill besides the fact that those who play eventually pick up some skill. It's all about luck in fishing for that perfect rift. its miles better than what Borderlands has.. and its not just about time on the toughest difficulty levels. and if Borderlands had a season mode damn that would be sweet. It is clear Blizzard is more committed to competitive play than Gearbox. and none of this means anything about a game like Overwatch which is almost completely devoid of PvE. D3's season mode demonstrates Blizzard's commitment to turning just about anything it can into "competitive play" of some form...and its a form of competition Borderlands players are begging for. when have i complained? i've said 1000X i prefer the Pardo approach. i've made dozens of posts lauding Pardo's approach to both PR and game development. the best quote on the issue i can recall " consumers are like mushrooms .. feed 'em shit and keep 'em in the dark." also: i'm in the beta. rather than make this about me... why not read the article and discuss Overwatch, Kaplan and the Beta. people (not me) have complained that only streamers were allowed into the Beta test. Kaplan's comment : "something like less than a percent of our entire beta invites were to streamers.” i think its a matter of perception becoming reality. this article is a good well-timed peace of PR by Kaplan and Blizz.

Is there any forum or community or good Twitter feed dedicated to competitive Overwatch? Does anyone stream scrims? There's some info in the LP tournament portal. There of course aren't any Premier or Major tournaments yet, but there are some minor/weekly events listed.
