Yeah I tried Battleborn and that was just fucking awful, I don't have a single good thing to say about it. Paladins looks just about as bad.
Lawbreakers does definitely look better but will have to wait for a chance to try both it and Overwatch.

I'm probably not going to touch Paladins or the Gearbox or Epic Games game, but I'll probably look into Lawbreakers.
I really enjoy what I've seen from their dev diaries.
The major concerns I have for it, is the Nexon publisher. And want to know more about the free2play business model. Every single Nexon game has some kind of pay2win. The ones that arguably don't have equipment that takes months to farm or is available for $20. I'd avoid them if you ever want to be competitive in anything they ever make. That said, they do make some entertaining games regardless.

I saw some gameplay from Epic's Paragon:
This looks actually kinda cool!
- You got minion waves - You got level ups - You got cool abilities - You got some sort of diverse talent tree/ skills
So really a 3rd person Heroes of the storm with Unreal Engine ^^

70€... No thank you. Too disappointed by all Blizzard games i put money into in the last years.
I'll settle with Dirty Bomb for the time being. As an old RTCW:ET player it's quite a nice game. Nothing spectacular, but i'm a hit-sounds junkie. Does Overwatch have hit- and headshot sounds?

God I wish. I doubt blizzard would add anything like that either.

I don't get why people are quoting the Special Edition price as the price of the base game...it's $40 if you don't want the skins and cross-game stuff.

thought so.
My friend is just telling me you can buy it for 40 as well, but the business model is like HotS? gtfo... I thought 70 for everything but skins, esport incoming! But this is just another money grabber then...
RTCW:ET + Show Spoiler +By far the absolute best tactical action team shooter(?). I can't even describe it, it ruined my life back then and the cheating on (well let's say near) the top level broke my heart. I quit online FPS for 5 years after i couldn't take it any more. Still no regrets, i met so many nice people online and on lan. Excluding the cheaters, i only regard SC:BW and maybe SC2 having a cooler community...

$40 gets you all heroes, all maps, and the base game. All future heroes and maps are free content. Microtransactions after give you cosmetic skins and sprays (which may or may not be earned in some kind of progression, they're still figuring that out). Preordering gets you 1 skin. The special edition gives you 4 more skins, the Tracer hero in HotS, OW Icons in SC2, Mercy Wings cosmetic in D3, Hearthstone OW Cardback, and the Baby Winston pet in WoW.
If you want to buy it on a console, you can ONLY buy the $60 version.

That might not be true. But around the time they shut down the beta they said heroes and maps will be added for free. Its a beta though the business model can still change. They seemed pretty convinced that a heroes business model won't work, so I doubt it will go in that direction. I would expect an expansion at some point depends on how well their cosmetics and merchandise will sell I guess.

I highly doubt it'll be changed at this point, because that would be basically false advertisement. They already announced it will be free, I can't imagine they'd change their minds at this point, unless Sony and Microsoft start hating Free DLC again and force them to monetize for consoles.

That's the reason why Valve had to abandon TF2 on consoles. They weren't allowed to patch it.
I think the rule from I read from the Braid console controversy, is that Microsoft and Sony allows you to patch your game once. And every patch after that costs 40 grand.
That was for PS3/Xbox 360. Their policies might have changed.

PSN/XBL architecture has completely changed. Just look at Killer Instinct: it's base free to play and had characters trickling out forever now and is constantly patched.

Ah. that's good. I'm not really a console guy so that's great to hear. It sucks that it takes an entire generation to fix an awful model. Off topic, but another really shitty thing about some console manufacturers, I know Nintendo had a policy on the Nintendo DS, where you weren't allowed to share your sales, AT ALL. Which means if you tried to go to the bank or a publisher, you weren't allowed to bring those numbers in. They corrected that with the 3DS, but it's still shitty that was a practice to begin with.

Oh they announced it, I thought it was just some devs saying it in a community update. Which for me is not 100% confirmed ... especially after this year. Even if its a game director. But neither do I think they will change away from that. Guess I didn't make myself clear in my prior post, as I just talked about the HotS model.

They are not going to change the price. The game will be $40 US unless the entire marketing team dies and the internet and human memory of 2015 is collective deleted.
