D.Va ult, especially double D.Va works wonders for this.

Not to mention, she can just turn on her shield and boost towards the turret nest while the rest of the team runs in behind.
Can't Symmetra deal with this pretty well? I don't know how likely she is to outdamage Torbjorn's repairs but loaded right-clicks two-shot Bastion through his shield. As for indirect damage, if they turtle that hard can't Mei help get in position (I assume Roadhog can hook D. Va through her 2nd ability), or Junkrat/Zarya deal indirect damage (easy for her to charge her weapon if there's really a Torbjorn, unless Roadhog has twitch reflexes you can peek out and take damage from the turret before he tries to hook you)?
Zarya shields blocks hook. Junkrat is a good way to get rid of turrets. But Bastion and Torbjorn will get reworks ... so I wouldn't bother to hard with this? Not sure how they will rework them, but their aim is to make them less frustrating for low levels and more viable for high level. Just let Tjorborn scrap all the stuff you can destroy on the maps XD.
And yeah D.Va will just sit on your level 3 turret and use her Ult and there nothing you can do. Bastion will not care due to shields though. But he will have to look at the explosion, which usually exposes him to other sources of damage.

On the plus side, I was able to get my GF to actually sit at her battlestation and play games for the first time in a long while. She took a new job where she mostly works from home, and by the time the evening rolls around and I come home from the office - she never wants to game, since she's been sitting in the home office all day already.
She's never really played an FPS, the closest thing would be Smite - but she really had fun playing the support and tank characters (Mia, Mercy especially).
I'm fairly high rated in CS (LEM) so the lack of aim really bothered me. Aim, angles, and movement are just not important skills in this game. The zipping around that Tracers do (2+ per match every single game guaranteed) feels like CoD with the extra knife range and movespeed. Really lame, arcade stuff. Many of the most played pubstomp characters (Tracer, Reaper, Bastion, Genji) just require zero aim. It took a lot of calm nerves and whiskey to get used to my deathcam showing my enemy's xhairs around my feet sweeping back and forth.
I played a lot of Mcree, since I figured it would reward aim. The crits had a nice graphic, but really felt underpowered. Onetapping someone in the head at medium range with a 6shot pistol should be a kill (at least against non-tanks), yet it really only does 50-60% damage. Especially in a game where movement is so fast and most characters have a blink or dash ability. His ult is ok- I had a great game with 35 kills on the back of 22 headshots, and the play of the game was my onebutton ult triple kill. Lame. It's pretty strong as area denial though. He felt pretty strong as a duelist with stuncombo, but super unrewarding to left click. You could almost honestly unbind left click unless it gets a big buff.

Overall, I felt pretty "meh". Fun, not bad. Not something I'd play a ton, but quite enjoyable with a few friends on Skype.
The mechanical skill to play a lot of the heroes is actually incredibly high (yes some of them are quite low, too); I think you just got unlucky in some 1v1's where you just played badly and tried to COD someone. Aim, angles and movement aren't important? I'm not sure how I feel about this statement. What are you basing it off? Considering a hero like tracer is all about aiming well and outmaneuvering the other team to be effective. Heroes like junkrat require good positioning/angles else all you are doing is shooting a reinhardts shield as they are pushing the cart.
McCree DOES reward aim. He is probably the steadiest/strongest hitscan dps character, especially with a mercy giving him a damage boost. His long range, while nerfed previously, is nothing to sneeze at either. I can definitely see your CS:GO'ness coming into play where you expect your headshot to 1hit a lot of heroes at mid-range. If you are maintaining close to or more than 50% accuracy then you will definitely be putting out a lot of damage as this guy.
His ult is great if it is especially set up right (in a higher skill game, with a lucio speed boost, some form of shield for you, crowd control on their team) or you go on an anal mission and the other team doesn't spot you. It's the kind of ult that can either punish you heavily for being greedy (trying for that big 3+k), or reward your heavily for going greedily. A lot of times you will just go for the 1 or 2 easy picks with it (squishies that get lined up quickly).
You can spam turrets and bastion with rockets as pharah or grenades as junkrat (bobbing between cover/getting to a better angle), symmetra with her charged right click on bastion especially, dva flying in with defense matrix up and getting behind the bastion, frost wall infront of the turrets/bastion.
Seems like you didn't really put much thought into picking heroes in games, and instead just played one hero and expected to win all the time, every situation, no matter what hero comps either team were using.
I think people are looking at skill from the perspective of their favorite game. The values of skill, vary from title to title. Countersrtrike and Quake are respectable, but players from both games would complain the TTK makes the other title take less skill when they're just different skillsets.
Same thing with how fighting game players looked down on Smash for a long time.
Q. Will any more players be added to the Closed Beta before it’s brought offline on December 10? A. No. We have no plans to add any more players to the Closed Beta before it's brought offline on December 10.
sigh fine, I guess I'll stop checking my account daily...
Whole month without Overwatch/Onlywatch. Was watching it more then anything else since closed beta started. I will have like 2 hours more i can fill with sleeping now !
So the game has the option to prepurchase. My question is, will the servers ALSO go down for those who prepurchased? Im pretty hyped and I wanna play it as soon as possible.

If you are looking to fill your Overwatch time, HiRez (the company behind Tribes and Smite) has a similar game coming up, Paladins, that you can opt into or pre purchase into.
Smite is a surprisingly great game, and Paladins looks pretty good. Still in Alpha, with only a few characters and maps, but I see it doing well in the future.
And haha NA invading EU and taking the tournament, while the best EU team not around. And now EU invading NA. Wonder if NA can hold. But Melty just lost their first official tournament map.
