So what are everyone expecting in the upcoming games? I'm expecting the rest of the gen 3 starters to get their mega forms along with mega groudon and kyogre. I'm also super hyped for 3D diving, although i hope they make surfing a lot faster since there's so much water in hoenn. Also trumpets.
I didn't hear about this until just now. I was waiting for them to announce the gen 3 remakes. Hopefully they have all the endgame content Emerald had.
Still need to buy X and Y and get a 3DSXL :w So behind... Any reasoning to why they are remaking Sapphire and Ruby? I watched the anime of that series recently (like last 3months) and it was pretty good but i don't get how or why they are revisiting it. Unless they just want to MEGA everything xD

They remade every single gen so far, it only makes sense.
Super excited for this. Gen 3 had probably the best region and introduced some really cool pokemon.

They did a Gen 2 remake before, it makes sense to continue that trend.
Both gen 1 and 2 got a remake, it was obvious that a gen 3 remake would be coming around sooner or later. They can skip gen 4 though and work on something else, i really don't miss sinnoh.
I dunno...I got X and never finished it. Just got to the electric gym and didn't feel the need to continue on. Not sure if I'll bother with these because even when I did play Sapphire, I played it once through then dropped it. I think I spent the most time ever with Gold, Blue, and Platinum.
More 3D hype! I clicked on this thinking that it was some kind of new mod for Ruby and Sapphire. I'm so pleased with this now, 3D Hoenn is going to be amazing, with Mt Coronet and Diving.
Also, Mega Salamence please, he needs a buff right now.
Also #2 please please please! Have a bit more stuff to do for the end-game! Would love to have the Battle Frontier available again.

Isnt Kyogre already basically the best pokemon in the game? does he really need a mega evo :x

Mewtwo got two mega evolutions. Even blaziken got a mega evolution. It clearly has very little to do with their strength regardless of what nintendo says.
I hope the remake is less faithful in copying the terrain 1:1 from the old version. I'd really like to see them use the XY features and expand the hoenn world using those. Fortree city could look amazing! (as opposed to being a tiny blip on the map)

What about Mega Arceus? You reckon E-killer would start OHKOing with ExtremeSpeed without SDing? lol
But yeah, probably be something like a specs Kyogre that can switch moves? Don't know how that beats current Mega Kangashkhan though, that thing is still crazy.

I thought they were dumb too, but it's kinda cool how the team magma/aqua symbols look like omega/alpha and the letters show up on the limbs of the two mega evos.
Funny, like HG/SS, we'll be seeing Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire as OR/AS. Or as? What is that?!
Yeah, seems like the demand was too much for GameFreak to ignore. They're also probably going to add mega evolutions for Pokeman like Metagross and finally, Latios and Latias. Seems like not only the best way to introduce such evolutions, in their original region, but also, to get people to buy the game to access such new features with new mega evolutions.
Whenever the Pokemon co. makes new Pokemon, they usually have little concern over how it'll affect the competitive battling scene. We usually tend to sort those things on our own anyways, and I doubt Kyogre will get a mega evolution that'll surpass the total base stat of Mega Mewtwo, since it's supposed to be deemed "the strongest Pokemon" after Arceus and everything.
Hoping to see some new mega evolutions in forgotten Pokemans like Volbeat (with beast Tail Glow), Illumise, Swalot, and Cacturne.
Gen 3 was my favorite generation by far. Had some of the best music, my favorite world map, and introduced Absol, Banette, and Gardevoir, three of my absolute favorite Pokemon (and the ultimate thief known as Linoone). I am absolutely HYPED for these games. November can't get here fast enough.
I wonder how many X and Y features will apply to ORAS. Things like Super Training, Pokemon Amie, Inverse Battles, and the like. I'm mostly hoping for an expanded post-game to make up for what XY lacked. The Battle Frontier making a comeback, new dungeons and/or towns, and stuff would be highly appreciated.
Looks like this pokemon nostalgia episode I'm in right now won't end until 2015 (which is the 20th anniversary I think? I guess Nintendo has some stuff lined up)

Mega Rayquaza, Mega Sharpedo, Mega Camerupt and Mega Gallade are known now.
add mega beedrill and mega pidgeot to that.
Controlled overworld flying with latios and latias.
Was shocked to see this, thought they had added some cheap pointless WoW flying into Pokemon. It's for finding Legendary Pokemon, and you'll get encounters in the sky too!

You were right. The Demo was super lame. Although, the free Mega Glalie and extra Pokeballs will be nice. I like to catch a bunch of pokes early in the campaign, so extra balls is always nice.
mega evolutions are stupid -- they give mega evo to pokemons that are already overpowered, overused and popular instead to pokemons that are weak and never used.

the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer.
Uh... Do you class Beedrill, Lopunny, Steelix, Altaria, Sharpedo, Camerupt, Audino, Gallade and Glalie to be then? That's practically half of the list of new Megas in ORAS and none of them are overpowered. What is this, some #OccupyPokemon 1% bs? Your post is terrible.

I am just mad they gave 2 mega evolutions for charziard, 2 mega evolutions for mewtwo because I hate popular pokemons

Let him have it MB!!
Also, does anybody know if any of the new Mega's are version Exclusive? I still haven't decided which version to buy.
r u 4 rela IGN? Have you seriously not played hoenn before? did you expect gamefreak to change the fucking map?
It wouldn't be too hard to get rid of waterfall. IIRC you only use it once, to get up to the elite 4? I may be wrong, it's been a while.
Waterfall is usually used for post-e4 hidden areas. e.g. in Meteor Falls you could meet Steven Stone again and get to the deepest tile which has Bagon
Oh and the beauty of RSE is tons and tons of surfing and diving looking for Regis, Sootopolis, Pacifidlog, Regis chamber etc. I remember surfing and fishing 24/7 for the goddamn Feebas too. Oh man too much memories, Im buying a 3ds for this

Pokemon encountered with the DexNav can have egg moves or hidden abilities. Normal encounters can only have their default move list and normal abilities. The DexNav also tells you how many 31 IVs the target has, up to 3 (shown by the # of stars).
You have to get the search level for a particular species to 25 to have it show you all these things. It's currently believed that getting your search level higher increases the chance of these properties being exceptional (more 31 IVs, more likely egg moves/HA, etc.), but the search level has to be in the hundreds for this increase to be noticeable (which means potentially a lot of horde farming).
My best moment at the start was creeping a surskit who proceeded to ko my ~33% life poochyena with fell stinger. Was so not expecting any of that, and I wish moments like this happened more often in Pokemon

my first wild pokemon catch was a poocheyna with fire fang.

Is Fire Fang fixed on them wild Poochyenas, cause my first creep capture was a Fire Fang Poochyena as well

It is for the first Poochyena you're taught about the DexNav on.
IIRC any future ones can have any of it's possible egg moves. Same goes for any Pokemon caught that way. There may be some moves that are favored though.
I'm really contemplating on keeping this. Unless someone tells me otherwise, will ~6-7 points of special attack and 2 hp (along with a more dismal 20-22 def IV) really make or break any 1-2 hit ko calcs offensively or defensively? Of course, the chances of me using this is pretty low anyway, but go go pokemon OCD
Most people will roll until they hit modest and 31s in SpA and Speed. This is probably good enough where in most cases tou won't notice the difference.
I only did SRing for like an hour or so, and I have my pokemon set up to the point that I'm guaranteed to get a 29-31 speed and 29-31 hp before I actually go through the annoying process to catch & deal with cutscenes, and hope that I got the modest coinflip (the long part-- final gambit accelgor, masquerain as my speed check, dexnaving enough ralts to eventually get a modest)
Plus, just looking at previous catches, I believe you are guaranteed 3x 31 anyway, so it's not like prime stat targets are hard to get.
But yeah, I'll probably just continue on.
[edit] Apparently IVs aren't set upon the first encounter. I could have sworn they were in previous games, so I went in with that mindset. So yeah, I'll deal with it later (without annoying cutscenes and hindering progress) :D
Derp, I didn't realize you can get Kyogre again later on, and I decided to just cap him without bothering SR-ing for good stats cause the cutscenes took incredibly long (and it was already past 1 AM)
I might just have to reset my file then (would probably need to do it to get Treecko's mega stone anyway I think).
Been taking this game slow. I just beat Wallace last night before going to sleep really late.

You can get Treecko's Mega Stone from the stone seller near Fallabor Town, I believe.
Each of the six battle stats has an IV associated with it, with that IV coming into calculation alongside the Pokémon's base stats and EVs to determine the actual stat number. A Pokémon's IVs are determined when it is generated by the game; when it is obtained as an Egg from the Pokémon Day Care, encountered in the wild, or given to the player by an NPC.
Think of it as a Pokemon's genes. You want max IVs in the stats you care about. (In Kyogre's case everything but Attack would be considered perfect)
I still go through the story mode without caring about it. And then just start preparing for playing competitively when the game is done. (At this point, my story-beating party gets entrenched in the boxes, never to be brought out again)
legendaries and IVs/EVs is an oxymoron anyway since you can't use them competitively, its mostly for showing off don't waste your time. If you plan to play competitively you just need a few good dittos, dont have to go through the tedious reset process
Well that's what you get for continuously releasing new pokemons that are more powerful than the last iteration. At this point pokemon is like Dragonball Z or Bleach with each new release reaching a even more ridiculous power level.
dont wanna go all out on the breeding for perfect stats and building teams. cuz it leads to nothing and is more annoying than fun :/ i liked X Y more overlal i gotta say
Well that's what you get for continuously releasing new pokemons that are more powerful than the last iteration. At this point pokemon is like Dragonball Z or Bleach with each new release reaching a even more ridiculous power level.
That's not really what happened to Pokemon at all. There wasn't really a power creep between gens and plenty of older pokemon were always strong, and you could even say things were more broken in the first gen than they are with the mechanics from today. Megas kinda changed that in some cases but that was the addition of a new mechanic more than new pokemon being always stronger.
Also, this isn't the first thing banned from Ubers or the only reason to create a new tier. There were plenty of abilities that were banned, if not an actual pokemon. It's more a move to create a legit Ubers metagame and create a new tier where whathever was previously banned is accepted. Which is sort of what Ubers was supposed to be at first.
im suprised they didnt put proton kyroge and groudon into the new tier list. wheather teams with them as starters just seem incredibly imba in theory, no?
They arent that good as far as I know. Definatelly not even close to Rayquazza. They also dont have the huge boost that is not having to waste the item slot for the mega evolution.
Looking into it it seems Primal Groundon is a top tier Ubers pick and Kyogre is not that great. Still far from Mega Rayquazza material.
