If you want it be be about "Actually proceeding" instead of the original aim of it being an experiment, then just let one person control it and it will be finished really quickly.

Also this argument is weak because even then you don't get the mythos that evolves from the random actions. One player would have never released Abby or Jay Leno, Bloody Sunday would have never happened, Venomoth would have never beat Lance's Dragonite. For me the stories have ALWAYS been more exciting than watching the actual stream.

And yes anarchy complaints are the vocal minority. Nobody cared when we used democracy to change our line up for E4 to beat the game.

No, I think this system is way better. We don't have the democracy vs anarchy spam and we can actually finish the game. And stop pretending that it is some kind of serious "experiment". The creator himself admitted that it was less an experiment than something he would like to see. That he used the term experiment is a little bit unfortunate.

The game started as a social experiment or whatever, but as it got more popular more and more people wanted to get involved and the goal evolved to actually beating the game. The introduction of democracy was the creators way of giving the viewers the tools to beat the game. A majority of viewers were fucking hyped as hell when they beat the game, and they would have never had that experience had the stream got stuck somewhere for days and anarchy and people lost interest. Sure, it's not as "hardcore," but in the end, I would argue participating in TPP is supposed to be about having fun and a lot more people have fun the way it currently is. I just don't think it harms the experience nearly as much as people make it out. Mostly because it allows the game to progress and lets more people enjoy the experience. Gen I was still played mostly in anarchy with democracy in a few key places, but if you were to just listen to the people complaining about the existence of democracy you'd think it was used to beat like 90% of the game.
