I never find all classes/roles boring after a while, the reason i have alts. I have however been playing my Fire mage since TBC the longest and got most progression on him. However i start every expansion main tanking for raiding guilds and he too has had lots of progression. I love my Fire mage, nothing beats pyroblast crits or combustion crits. However Fire is always second or even 3rd best until you get good gear. At the moment it is Frost > Fire > Arcane until your above about 40% crit then it's Fire > Frost > Arcane. However when your full heroic gear its Arcane > Fire > Frost. So it is very gear depenent mage xD My warrior is so fun to tank with it is so many more things to do as a tank and you feel so important! I also have a Hunter - Mistweaver Monk - Resto Shaman - Shadow Priest - Paladin who is just rotting away. So they don't get much play time. My Resto shaman is at the moment though as i think i need to heal in a few raids so im spamming LFRs and stuff to gear him up. They are kinda fun but very easy to play. Warlock - Best DPS and fun to play from what i can see Mage - Fun in all specs, maybe Arcane sucks the most. However very gear dependent Hunter - Easy to play and average DPS. Useful with their pets to give certain raid buffs as well. Imo if your going to be the best DPS you can be you pick Warlock or Mage. If you want to be a bit more useful and best dps go Warlock. If you want to be useful and be average DPS and have fun i think Hunter wins. Best bet for my honest answer is, play all 3. Level them all to 20/30 and see which one you feel is best to YOU. As nothing beats your own opinion on WoW to others. I also have yet to level a Warlock, that will probably be my free 90 form WoD xD As you can see on the latest Sim DPS. All these mages with Arcane and op gear are running away with DPS. Blatty is probably the best non Fire mage in the game as Vykinha is the best fire mage in the game. However Blatty runs circles around people in Arcane as you can see ^_^ http://www.wowprogress.com/simdps/ As you see on that hunters not in top 100 as pure DPS class = WoW is silly at times ;_; | ||

Warlocks being top dps this expansion doesn't mean they will be that in WoD(they weren't supposed to be this exp either every patch) but what actually matters is that every class is now viable, with very few specs really lacking behind and even then probably having some fights which are good for them. Arms for example is better for few fights like galakras, constant heavy aoe and while it's lacking behind fury in single, it probably wont gimp your raid over if you play it and if it does, well you probably have more problems to take care of. Best answer really is to play the classes yourself and see what you like, getting good with your class will net you a spot in raid anyway. Only the very top guilds are concerned about bringing the maximum amount of class X at time Y when as for others it is mostly irrelevant if your raid setup isn't completely abysmal in the first place. Play what you enjoy and keep alts so if at some point you feel like switching then you can just do that. | ||

Around what ilvl does your potential upgrade loot pool get so small that it gets real tough? i cant imagine using that many rolls on any single thing right now, everything is pretty much open for upgrade. it is bliss. | ||
