For instance, the reason that the green items you get at the start of outlands are so good is that they have to make sure that there is a level playing field even if there are people with epics from naxxramas. Which doesn't exist anymore, so I think they could remove the gap so that the greens you get in outlands are not so superior. And obviously rebalance the content, which I'll assume is easy for them.
Another thing they could do is to remove some of the exponential growth in items. Like an item with ilvl 50 is x times as strong as one of level 45 and is x*x times as strong as one of level 40, which means the stats grow very quickly. They could make the growth a bit more linear for the content up to level 85, leaving MoP and WoD with the current system.
(if that makes sense) Its something blizzard keeps saying yet keeps ignoring. The gaps in MoP are once again huge between tiers. The gap between quest blues and Heroic Warforged is ~150. And that is in a single expansion with 3 raiding tiers.

One thing I would look forward to with the expansion is the ability to solo more content that I currently can't reasonably solo. Yeah, it does depend on class. I think for the most part, if you're in full heroic raiding gear (I'm talking 570+ ilvl, 600k+ hp unbuffed), you should be able to solo all content as any class, up to maybe certain bosses in 25 man heroic LK. In fact, I'm pretty sure LK 25 heroic is harder to solo than some heroic Cata dungeons. Of course, I'm willing to bet that a hunter and maybe certain tanks like blood DK's or warriors due to second wind can solo even more than that. edit: a few bosses in 25-man Ulduar can also be a pain. Thorim in particular is difficult for any class due to the mechanics of the fight. Hunters and blood Dks should be doable, you can easily solo all of naxx I think. or most of it with 1 person(might need 2 for certain bosses) but the higher you get some of the mechanics will make soloing them pretty difficult if you aren't a blood dk or a hunter

I've solo'd almost all of the 10-man non-heroics in WOTLK at this point. The achievement system makes it hard to keep track of what raids you have and have not completed yet for some reason... it wasn't such a problem with earlier expansions. As soon as I finish the 10 mans, I will try some 10-man heroics... I assume those are either than the 25 non-heroics.

Your WoW Armory page shows your progress for each raid, if that's what you wanted to track.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/caelestrasz/Lyralei/advanced
It's at the bottom of the page, and it shows every raid from vanilla to MoP, different difficulties, how many of each boss you've killed and so on.

Blood DK's have been solo'ing WotLK raid content since WotLK. Check out this youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Mionelol?feature=watch She's solo'd all the way through the first tier of MoP content. I remember a quote that the first time she ever did most of the heroic dungeons when she did them solo.

How can you tell whether you've done the 10 man or 25 man version though? I guess that's not considered important as long as you've finished at least one version?

If you go to Achievements -> Dungeons & Raids, I think that should show everything (if I understand what you're asking). There are some differences; for example, completing all the achievements for www.wowhead.com/achievement=4603 gives you a different colored mount than the 10 man version.

(we'll see how long I last.. my middle name is addiction) Gaming addiction is a bunch of fairy shit. You were to lazy to quit and actually do something productive with said time. There is absolutely no empiric evidence supporting Gaming addiction. If any form of ''Gaming addiction'' actually exists it's most likely a symptom not the disease, meaning that you most likely have an addictive personality.
At the start of Cataclysm, I quit because I just didn't enjoy the game anymore, my guild fell apart. I didn't feel any withdrawal. That's not how addiction works.

Being prone to fall prey to addiction is not a disorder. Being addicted is... and gaming addiction is a real thing, just as gambling addiction is.
If you don't know what you're talking about, just don't talk.

Blood DKs were stupidly OP back in Wrath. Once you hit a certain threshold you could just heal yourself indefinitely. Every increase in max HP gave you that much more survivability, plus a bonus to all your self-heals. It was hard to see at the end game because they were not good in PvP, and most end game bosses hit so hard the healing didn't do much. But in groups of 3-4 mobs you'd be unstoppable. Most people didn't realize it because 90% of DKs were absolutely horrendous at figuring out rune rotations and dps DKs were much easier to play. I remember once soloing Ignis down from about 10% after the rest of my group wiped. My raid was all like, "alright everyone release and start running back" and I was all like "nah bros, I got this"

Blood DKs were a joke compared to the original Frost DKs. Me and a Paladin dual tanked Patchwerk with nothing but Heroic gear just based on our CDs up until rage timer. Something's gonna happen? Pop a CD, nothing happened. On top of the fact that we did some stupid DPS while in tank gear.

DKs still went over into Cata being stupidly OP. Hell there AMS in Cata was biggest joke to tanking ever >.< The fight on Ultraxion comes to mind where they were able to just sit there and tank so easy and take 0 damage after a warp phase was unreal. I was sat there popping SW everytime still getting huge hits in my face and DKs just get to pop AMS and chill....go make another cup of tea or something xD That was my last real fight before i left Cata as i just got a new job and i didnt fancy raiding 3 nights a week on top, but damn DKs were good for a while and they still kind of are now. Not to the extremes that they were though but still very good in DPS and Tanking departments.

For the soloing thing it's pretty much everything i do because i have no friends in the game :p With 400ish ilvl and at level 89 i can do cata normal no problem. Heroic not all of them but some were doable so if you are ilvl 500 it's definitly possible. Playing shaman elem/heal. I'm now 90 since yesterday night (yeah).

One of my prouder achievements is soloing the thrash before the first boss in heroic shadow labyrinth with my frost mage at level 70. The boss wasn't possible though.
