After watching a couple of youtube videos just seems like they really half-assed it.Can barely tell the difference with the new graphics, some of the units even look worse like destroyers.A lot of detail lost. Not sure if Warcraft II even needed a remaster to be honest.
But if people for some reason want to play warcraft 1, with all the quality of life stuff they added like hotkeys, increased unit selection from 4 to 12, right click to move etc it's better to play the remastered.A far bigger jump with the graphics from old to new as well compared to warcraft 2.
WC 1 and WC 2 clearly look at lot better. WC 3 is arguably worse for some reason

See how burned we all are? The amount of rightfully placed misstrust Blizzard earned over the years is irrefutable

The WC3 upscale is apparently just done by AI. WC2 they are saying is hand drawn but i dunno, maybe a combination.Has a mobile game look to it now.
Certainly not enough here for me to buy it when i already have it on gog.
Nice that they are finally taking a proper swing at it but at the same time smells very bad that they forced this launch on the Warcraft Anniversary date when WC3 (from what I've seen) is still not done and has bugs and other things to fix. Basically makes it look like they are once again cash grabbing instead of the "When its done" of Blizzard old.
its so weird to me when they make HD sprites but keep everything else about the games ancient. It feels so out of place. The games need a REMAKE not a graphical update.
Starcraft Remastered and Diablo Resurrection are so insanely good compared to wc1 wc2 wc3 remasters. I was honestly expecting something better for the wc2 remastered edition.
Like the difference is actually minimal lmao. Blizzard..

I’m alright with it, a little more ambition would have been nice for sure.
I think Reforged as it was originally pitched was a great balance between a little upgraded remaster made more compatible, and a fully fledged remake. Hell it wasn’t purely just pitching either, early vertical slices shown indicated they were working on those things. Shame penny-pinching completely fucked it.
Granted I never played Warcraft 1 and I only played the demo of Warcraft 2, so I don’t have a lot of nostalgic affection and I’m just happy to have a decently-priced bundle (for me, as WC3 is still probably my all-time favourite game)
It’s not that I don’t have standards, I think it’s mostly because I just want to have some kind of new title. It’s been nice these past few years with decent remasters of games from my childhood I didn’t have the money to all buy, hopefully this can transition to some new material
The thing is Blizzard games always had incredible visual design back in those games. High visual clarity, strong aesthetic, etc etc
It would actually be very difficult to top those old graphics with some high-fidelity stuff. Not impossible, but it actually gets a lot harder to maintain that clarity and aesthetic when you get more detailed.

There was a leak about at least WarCraft 2 getting remastered a few days ahead of the announcement and at that point it was not clear that the release was imminent.

I highly doubt enough people who actually can derive what makes Blizzard RTS games so great are still with the company, so I'm actually not sure if they could develop a good one if they tried.
This might be a dark mirror universe J. Allen Brack "You think you do, but you don't." moment where he's actually right.
what mmr would u need in normal WC3 ladder before you can switch to WC3 champions and not get farmed? I'm a new player to WC3 and curious about these things. currently struggling under 4k mmr lol my gut tells me 4.5k-5000 but if anyone knows more exactly id appreciate it ^^

Grubby guessed that the starting MMR on Bnet is probably around the equivalent of 1200 MMR on W3Champions (which seeds you at 1500). That said, there are a lot of brand new players on Bnet just like you who aren't aware of W3Champions at all, so it's probably fine to just mess around on Bnet for the time being, then move over to W3Champions as a more long-term strategy.

If anyone can help me with HUMAN Tech Progression i am a bit lost after riflemen, footman and 2 hero stage. i heard u go priests but arent they useless until t3 inner fire? I made a couple and it felt like they did literally nothing. Do i need to research something at t2 for them to be good?

They are doing Stormgate and Battle Aces right now. GLHF Quick reminder of what EX-Blizzard developer have done: Wildstar Hellgate: London Upcoming: Sunderfolk Marvel Snap
Feels like you're trying to dunk here but you conveniently left out Torchlight.

Feels like you just need some basic resources to find a build and explain why it's good. WC3 Gym is great for that, and their Discord is designed for mentorship. Grubby also has beginner-oriented builds and strategies both posted in his Discord (in #wc3-builds) as well as his main Youtube channel.
Short answer is Priest healing is very good as it keeps the Human army downtime low, particularly paired with Brilliance Aura to fuel their mana regen. Priest Dispel is immensely useful and is arguably a main reason you get Priests in the first place. It has a decent AoE, removes buffs and debuffs, and deals 200 damage to summons. Inner Fire is of course nice to have if you go Castle, but doing so is a big commitment that will only be affordable if you have a strong economy.
