It's been kept pretty hushed. Probably just original features and w3c quality of life implementation or perhaps collaboration. If they touch or revisit graphics they just need to increase things like polygon and texture resolution and leave it the same. Re-reforged

Re-reforged If they can do SC Re-re Microsoft and Shield Battery collaboration. Old BW 1.16 graphics with wide screen, and the carbot and remastered skins for those who care, and QoL additions for all the other shit.

You cant throw a stone without hitting someone "bragging" how cool it is to be into Brood War It’s great to have options, and W3C or Shield Battery have done a great job that was much-needed. However, if you can do it within the first party client and implement those features, it’s clearly something that has advantages. You fragment the playerbase less, folks don’t need to download third-party stuff (if they’re even aware it exists, which many aren’t) etc etc Both W3C and Shield Battery are better ladder clients, but the average player is just better than the Blizz ladder. Which is a problem for newbies for sure, if you could have them mashed together you get the best of both worlds

You have to find some kind of community like TL, or some Discords and players of your level, sync up times if you’re spread across the globe and schedule things. Someone like me may do this, WC3 is my favourite game of all time and I’m enjoying returning to Azeroth a bit, even if I wasn’t a competitive 1v1 player first time around. For players without prior knowledge, like newbies or don’t have some super motivation to spend too much time outside just playing the game, a ladder with a big range of skill sets is much more attractive

What Grubby was showing seems very promising. Basically the MVP I expected last time around. I really like the mix and match of settings options, that’s actually cool. I really like getting to choose certain options for your heroes. They all look super recognisable, so there’s not issues with visibility. But I get to have Illidan! That’s dope. As Grubby pointed out, maybe a ‘pay to lose’ skin given his footsteps linger on the ground, but cool And they’ve not yet finished yet too, very promising. It feels whoever’s working on it has the right ideas and the requisite resources to deliver this time. From what I saw it’s a mix of 3 batches of improvements: 1) Stuff that was in the original, should have been ported and modernised in ways perhaps, but wasn’t in Reforged. 2) QoL tweaks that either have been suggested by the community, or implemented in somewhere like W3Champions and added to this build. 3) Tweaks that weren’t hugely being demanded by the community, but were added and are nice

Biggest win in my opinion is the ability to use original models without sacrificing all the other graphical upgrades. I can finally tell the difference between priests and sorcerers again! The in game timer is also really nice.

After watching a couple of youtube videos just seems like they really half-assed it.Can barely tell the difference with the new graphics, some of the units even look worse like destroyers.A lot of detail lost. Not sure if Warcraft II even needed a remaster to be honest. But if people for some reason want to play warcraft 1, with all the quality of life stuff they added like hotkeys, increased unit selection from 4 to 12, right click to move etc it's better to play the remastered.A far bigger jump with the graphics from old to new as well compared to warcraft 2.
