I prefer old graphics aswell but if I play the Campaign I want to see HD Videos. The colors of the new graphic looks very pale to me (mainly because of shadows and lighting at settings options).

HD videos you mean like Arthas killing his father, Thrall and Hellscream fighting Mannoroth, etc?
I thought they said they will not touch these. Oh and.. if you expect classic single player campaign just with new graphics.. I think you'll be disappointed.. They will change a lot of things in the single player campaign afaik. It will not be the same anymore.

same here my dude.. same here..
this new style doesn't look like Warcraft 3 at all.. it looks cheap, plastic-like.. Quite bad indeed.
I feel the same but I’m not sure to what degree my nostalgia and love for the original play into this.
Perhaps WoW players etc, I.e the new players Blizz wants to draw in prefer the beta style? Not sure on that mind.
One thing I do think most people are agreeing on is that units aren’t as easily identifiable immediately in bigger clumps, so hopefully that can be improved.

idk if this is "nostalgia" this time my man.. sometimes remakes just look far worse than the original and nothing like it, too..
this might be the case with Reforged because I have read hundreds of comments pointing out how bad this actually looks.. even for a supposed "beta".
Damn shame all they care for is money from the people that will buy, play for 6 months max and then abandon the game while we, the hardcore audience will be left with this garbage looking game..
This seriously doesn't look like a Bli$$ard game, but like something a medium sized chinese studio will make for some weird MMORPG type of game..
And I've just wanted them to make this Starcraft Remastered style.. They've changed literally everything instead.
Blizzcon opener seems like really bad news for Reforged =\. All they said was "Release date will be talked about 'soon'". Considering no trailer style announcement of launch date I'm going to assume it's not this year.

I’m perfectly happy with stock WC3 already if it’s optimised a bit for modern systems, I only really care for remasters if they do that, bring something to another platform or can get a new audience to an old game.
Many of my SC2 buddies who love RTS but were a bit too young for WC3 first time around are pretty pumped for a new RTS to get their teeth into. They’re pretty thin on the ground, it’s SC2 or BW which is hard as nails amongst sizeable RTS properties.
Amongst our group anyway WC3 vets including myself don’t really like many elements of the aesthetic, people who didn’t play WC3 all think it looks fine and wonder what we’re complaining about.
I don’t personally care for the aesthetic myself but equally would rather the game appeal to new people and draw new gamers into RTS than purely appease fans of the original who are in their 30s and 40s now

Could be a good thing, I’d rather they fully nail a remaster I’d probably my favourite ever game than rush it to market.
That said it seems to be taking rather a long time, which makes me think they’re running a skeleton crew on its development.
From what guys like Grubby who were invited for opinions and feedback have said, it’s all really positive stuff about what the team want to do, how they won’t alter mechanics etc, all music to the ears. I get the impression the team know what they’re doing and looking to achieve but don’t have the manpower to actually do anything quickly.
I’ve liked the beta so far. It’s unstable and I crash too often, but it feels right. I think the aesthetic concerns are legit, but to be honest, I don’t really care. If the core game stays the same and I can enjoy wc3 for another 5+ years on modern systems, then I’m good.

Is grubby known for being critical of wc3? Honest question as I don’t follow that scene anymore, but he kind of has interests in promoting wc3 regardless, yeah?
Does that mean they're going with a philosophy of "change it for the sake of changing it because that generates interest" as opposed to "change only to fix necessary problems"?

He was pretty critical of the last patch/proposed patch anyway.
As per the Remaster he wants it to play exactly like WC3 and would be critical of any alterations to that. I assume the Korean BW pros and streamers while also having an incentive to promote a remaster also wanted the remaster to keep the flavour of the original which was why SC Remastered was pretty damn faithful

the thing is.. I really don't think many new faces will stick with this game past 6 to 12 months from the release of "Reforged"... so what I afraid is going to happen is that all the people that Bli$$ard want to milk of their money will leave (wow players and people that played single player in their childhood and never played again in 15 years) and us, the old guard will be left with an aesthetically shitty product.. I hope it will not happen, but it might.. I think this is exactly what happened with the Starcraft Remaster.
TBH I really was hoping they would go for the SC:R route aesthetically + some important QOL changes.. I would be very content if they did.. and I think it would attract many people, too because they would immediately recognize that this game is actually wc3 that they knew and love..
idk, I have very bad feelings about this. Also no ladder on release? I mean, c'mon.. wtf is this? Not looking good so far..

I don't like the aesthetic much either, but I'm getting mixed messages here. You said that they just milked people's money from SC:R and left us with an aesthetically shitty product, but then you say you were hoping that they would go for the SC:R route aesthetically?
And honestly, if you think there would be a significant infusion of long term newblood from this remaster, you probably were mistaken anyway. Most people will drop it after some months no matter how good it is, because 90% of people who buy the game have no interest in the ladder in the first place, and secondly, of those 10% that do? They won't like facing against veterans of 10+ years experience for very long. Most of the people who might be interested in ladder will fatigue real quick. Especially since we're going to be able to smurf just like before.
But I agree, no ladder on release seems like a bad look. They should just delay the thing if they don't have it ready. I understand that most people who buy the game won't be interested in ladder anyway, but really... seems kind of half finished. Then again, SC:R didn't (doesn't?) have 2v2 ladder at release either. Which is also stupid.

No ladder on release is... curious.
Really all I want to do is play ladder. It’s the same with my SC2 buddies who haven’t played WC3 before, something new to learn and test our skills at.
