I have mixed feelings about Reforged overall.. Many changes which I don't like at all..
i agree. i like that i can run it without any dps drop on my laptop. i hope i can just disable all the changes. will definitely enjoy all the fresh meat on ladder tho nom nom nom nom nom
yeah, that option is a must have I think.. Afaik a large portion of WC3 players have less advanced PCs or Laptops and it would be terrible if they suddenly would not be able to run their favourite game on their hardware.. Let's hope they are going to implement it into the final product.

I’m coming for you bro.
I just want new players to play this great game, and perhaps MOBA/WoW players to get bitten by the RTS bug. The Warcraft universe has way more crossover appeal than that of Starcraft
We need a big influx of noobs, so there’s a skill curve and depth the playerbase. I haven’t really played in fifteen years, although I’ve been watching quite a bit lately. As it stands I have to do a lot of learning to catch up to WC3 vets, but equally my Blizz RTS fundamentals mean I destroy those below me.
Even if they butcher it and alienate veterans we still have OG WC3 to play in the end. Really where I’m judging it is how well it brings in new players to both this game and genre.

Eh. Worst case scenario you can always revert to the old graphics. I'm loving the new changes. Everything looks full of life and energy.
Although, I'm reserving judgement until I see what it looks like from an RTS perspective. A lot of these angles are very impractical for normal gameplay.
The W-League is a major tournament organized by War3Station, sponsored by Touhou. The league was divided into two divisions for Asian players: Super League & First Division. It also features a European Qualifier.
The Top 4 Players of the Groupstage will advance to the playoffs on September 22.
Do other people like the new art style? It looks extra gritty and dirty. Sometimes parts of the silhouettes are so small it's hard to read the shape. Honestly, when zoomed in it looks really good. But from the top down perspective, I honestly like the original better.
The new icons are great. They look the same, just better.
I got in, didn't get any email about it nor notification in bnet. Just noticed how the dropdown menu above Install was active and I could switch to Beta from the normal game.
My thoughts after playing a few hours. I know it's a beta, but so far very sloppy beta. Lots of people crashing midgame, weird sound and UI issues occasionally. Rock Golems on Twisted Meadow do this weird thing where they don't crumble upon death but instead sort of slowly melt over the course of a minute. Hopefully these are issues that can be fixed and polished in a reasonable amount of time.
On to actual gameplay, maybe it will just take some time getting used to but I feel like the units are harder to keep track of during battles. Neutral creeps especially seem to not stand out as much and it felt much harder to click items/tomes. Big battles especially look much busier than the old style graphics and felt much more difficult to micro and pay attention to whats going on.
Once again I know its just beta, but having been a part of the original WC3:RoC beta and SCII beta, the betas of those games felt much cleaner and better prepared than this.

Yes. That's a really nice feature to have. From the start of the beta.
For real though: I hope the classic teams work together closely and not only "backport" 2vs2 matchmaking to BW but I also hope Reforged benefits from all the matchmaking beta testing we've done over the years.

afaik it's much easier to implement 2v2 in war3 because it's server based, not p2p

I'm like 99% sure this is wrong. WC3 netcode works like BW not like SC2. There was a big fuss made when SC2 announced they wouldn't have LAN, which was cause they started hosting games on blizz servers instead of P2P with b.net only for lobbies.
