I would be upset if there are 15k+ more viewers watching Marvel pools with 2/3, PS3 and a TON of scrubs instead of high level smash and KoF. Even at high levels the game is just stupid to watch. The storylines just aren't there for marvel either, which was a big reason why AE matches were so iconic. KoF's international presence as well as its dying scene and the Cinderella story of Smash making it to EVO and getting into drama with nintendo are reasons why I won't watch marvel much until the end.

MVC is all about extremely tiny windows in which you can stop a juggle. If you miss it you have to wait another couple of seconds to try again. Assuming you don't use one of the 900000 glitches in the game.

People are talking about how yesterday is cool but ask "when's marvel" or saying if they can handle rest of weekend with Day 1 only passing by. If anything Saturday will be a day of rest with some good KoF and Smash before Marvel really gets interesting. AE will always be more relevant than Marvel (and KoF) simply because a lot more people actually play it themselves. The netcode is so bad in Marvel/KoF that they don't really even have a non-tournament playerbase, so they're pretty much purely "spectator sports" for 99% of the people watching the tournaments.

Versus series games are very high leverage, meaning there are situations where making the right choice or avoiding the wrong choice carry extremely high importance. In UMvC3 there are certain team constructions that are designed to prevent you from being able to play once you get hit (most teams with Zero or Firebrand on point, for example), while there are other teams that are designed to reign in the craziness and control the match via the neutral game (see Chris G's Morrigan/Vergil/Doom team). Each approach sacrifices some element to be stronger at another.

Unlike AE which is more focused around positioning, spacing, and matchups, Marvel meta has always revolved around how much bullshit you can stack into one team. Yet despite the "randomness" the top players consistently manage to wriggle their way into top 8. Definitely not fun for me to play, but watching it is always a blast.
