I played a little NHL with other people, does FIFA work similarly? Where one person would control one position in NHL i.e. Center, does one person control the right mid/forward in FIFA or something? Or is there only 1v1, 2v2, etc in FIFA, where anyone can control any position?

For fifa 14, what is the mode that everyone searches for? it seems that NOBODY IS playing on fast setting whenever i setup custom game.

you can scrap that Da-Muffinman btw and replace it with itsdamuffinman (or just scrap it, because its both the same :D - got a namechange a while back).
But I won't be getting FIFA 14 after all, because they aren't bringing the new engine to the PC.

Yeah I'm not getting FIFA 14 at least on PC. Fucking piss take with the ignite engine. And I'm not sure I want to support EA in that franchise even if I do get a ps4.

has anyone had a bug (i assume it's a bug) where FUT games won't start? I find an opponent, get to the screen where his team is shown and never get past it. the circle keeps spinning and i can change music but the game never loads. happens every other game, seemingly randomly, and is infuriating. i get DNF and lose contracts and a game is recorded in match history

that hasnt happened to me but i've teleported my player before.
was just running with the ball, clashed with a defender, the defender fell to the floor and my guy teleport 10 ft ahead

Ive never really seen a reason for a yearly release of FIFA. The internet and infrastructure allows for season / team updates within the game already, what do you need a new one every year for?
Its not like they make ground breaking changes with each new release, wasnt the last one just something to do with the crowd? XD I think the last big change i remember is moving from 8 directional to 360 movement and "be-a-pro" play.
Either way, i guess its just like CoD, have to buy the next one and move on because thats where the playerbase is if you want to play online / competitively.
Im happy with my FIFA11  One day i'll custom make the squad changes xD

the change from fifa 11 (the last one I owned, incidentally) to 14 is immense. just the defending change makes the game so much better already

Only bug i have had is where my player stayed off the pitch until the ball was out of play. It was Messi in a 2v2 game i was doing with my mate. Id ran to try and head the ball but he had ran off the pitch because the cross nearly went in. He then stayed off the pitch from 80min game clock until the ball went out on 90min game clock. Was pissed as we were drawing at the time ;_;
He was just AFK stood off the pitch next to the goal line :S then the ball went out of play and it reset himself back onto the field.

that happened with my goalkeeper once; he stayed left of the goal off the pitch, until my cpu-opponent missed the open net and positions got reset ^^ was pretty funny

i love the new defense now. took me awhile to get used to, couldnt even beat professional AI, first FUT games i went 0-4. then i learned 1) dont sprint 2) walk/non-sprint into defender when possible, dont force it 3) block baller's pass and drible paths and not try to tackle.
new tactical defending rewards patience
then i went 4-0 in FUT and beat world class AI handily XD
also, korean silvers are beasts

packs have not been rewarding for me, i spent $20 worth of fifa points and best i got was Vertonghen. all other gold rares were the likes of Koke, Berbatov that sold for 2k and 750 respectively. i'd build a team first then buy packs. (may times i felt i should have upgraded my club rather than waste 7500 coins)
you can build decent gold team first with 350 per card. then upgrade it later one by one with ones that cost 4k.
or invest in some silver cards, especially korean and mexican league players (they're fucking ridiculous)

gold packs are a lottery, i.e. worthless
silver packs are 50/50
bronze packs usually yield a small profit if you sell all the contracts
generally better to buy underpriced players and resell, and you can make some sick teams on a budget
but the fucking bug I mentioned above is driving me nuts - got to final of bronze cup and then game freezes in loading screen again
just going to smash bads in seasons from now on i guess until i get a reply on ea forums (i.e. never)
