It kinda looks like the core gamer should be happier with a PS4 especially outside the US but nothing can be said for certain at this point. I think nothing can be said one way or the other until full xbox one specs are out. If assumptions are that the hardware is generally the same then it will probably just be up to which companies exclusives you are more interested in. E3 will probably be a good time to figure that out.

According to Kotaku, games will "suspend" after three minutes if the machine is not connected to the internet. Hahahaha, i laughed because i don't give a crap about consoles ,but this is just over the top. This shit is hilarious.

On the actual topic: I think I'm done with consoles, most things I heard about the upcoming generation sounded very disappointing. Gaming is for PCs. These are home entertainment systems, and the industry is trying to shift that way anyway. Well, they're actually trying to move to (science help us) mobile gaming.

And in this generation, developing for the DS (or even cell phone) meant a fraction of the budget with an order of magnitude greater user base. And if you do that, you're developing for a different market. Saying that a AAA release is the same market as the latest Angry Birds is just silly. They're both entertainment, and have some cursory similarities, but that's about it. And, like I said in my first post, that's exactly why consoles aren't gaming machines anymore. Pure gaming has moved to the handheld market and even that's being gobbled up by Android and iOS. You can ignore those segments of the market if you'd like but they are affecting the console market in tremendous ways. And it's a big reason we end up with these shit shows of console reveals. Former Halo players aren't turning into angry birds farmvillers - those people are a new market, people who didn't really play games at all before. Undoubtedly the market is shifting; that does not mean that console games are now the same market as android games. Just as MMOs are not the same market as, say, an offline 4x TBS.

Otherwise, what is the point of buying their device for functionality you already have. And you still need a cable subscription to access all of this tv functionality their toting. So this device is aimed at cable subscribers who don't own a cable box, and who would be willing to pay several hundred dollars + an additional sub fee from MS to get that kind of functionality?

If thats any indication ( not saying it will ) Sony would be the way to go for somone interested in only games

15 exclusives with 8 new IPs sounds really interesting at first. Than I thought that at least half of the 15 exclusives might be some kind of Kinect mumbo jumbo which I don't care about. E3 will be the real gauge of the new systems I guess, so far the PS4 sounds more interesting to me..
