I think he already decided :D
As for killing stuff.. I don't think it takes a long time. If you're underleveled a few, it'll take twice as long but you get like 4x as much experience for it. At level 9 on spellslinger i was pulling as many mobs as i could at once and two shotting entire packs, so it was way faster than warrior (which was still pretty fast against equal level mobs)
Are you playing a DPSper by any chance? That's the only class i've heard particular complaints from
|
He mentioned Gunslinger so I assume he's also a Spellslinger, which is weird since they're one of the faster killing classes.

Ah yea
well i never had a problem with SS DPS, it actually blew me away since the first thing i did was oneshot the first monster you fight with an auto attack, then ran around for the next 8-9 levels oneshotting entire packs of mobs with charged shot crits
If it's not obvious.. most of your damage when leveling spellslinger comes from the R ability, i forgot what it's called but it massively increases damage/DPS and recharges very fast. The R abilities (innates?) are extremely important in this game and when i first started playing, i didn't use the warrior one a lot. Now, having played a few classes, there's no way i wouldn't keep it on cooldown at least 50-75% of the time.

Finally got back to my computer after a few weeks away, and started going for silver runs. Had 3 runs of KV which went 64, 56 then 49, so progress!
It's just the stupid second boss who keeps tethering our healer right as he tries to dash out of a bomb, instakilling him >.> (Plus the double bomb bug killing us twice in the same run.)
We killed the last boss in two runs where the healer and tank both died to the blades middle stage as well, just powering him down from 50% with only 3 dps's alive, we'll probably work out how to safely do the second boss tomorrow, then it'll be on to stormtalon :D
Also finally runed my gear, at 2300 ap now, 2.55k when spell surged. Only missing trigger finger and i'll be at a point where I can call my dps decent~

The slavemaster haunts my dreams and hurts me when I feel safe. I've spent a good 40 some hours in groups wiping on him for one reason or another. useing the ledge trick and having the tank stay in his tether for 30 seconds makes the majority of the fight trivial. If you can't dodge the shockwave phase you need to give up on wildstar beacuse you won't make it. Its an incredibly simple telegraph sequence that explains itself clearly on the ground.
it pisses me off when my guildmates are crusing on ssm and sc when I can't get past the second vet dungeon.

it pisses me off when my guildmates are crusing on ssm and sc when I can't get past the second vet dungeon. The telegraph is pretty simple, we just keep dying to really dumb shit like a super late mine during the add phase, or someone getting tethered at a really bad time, or not staggering our cc properly during the second add phase, and suddenly there's one of the rocketing through a mine and we have nothing left to slow it.
What's the ledge trick, and what do you mean keep the tank in his tether? (The randomly spawning one or the ones everyone are tp'd to, and why?)
We've just been doing it how it's designed i think, breaking all tethers asap
|
well if you need me to show on a picture I'll ms paint it for you.
So faceing the slavemaster you look to the far left of the zone to where the red shield meets the wall. There is a ledge near the red octogon shaped wall that forms the boss area once you start. If you stand up on that ledge while the boms are focused on someone and move to them the bombs simply won't move and will just sit there and fire at you. just have your healer standing up there with your whole group never come down and just heal everyone. then have them auto attack the wall so you guys can burn down the tether after the bombs all self descruct.
after this phase when he casts "enslave" that puts the whole group into tethers spaced away from eachother as long as the tank stays in his tether the slavemaster will stay where he is for 30 seconds. after those 30 seconds he will cast supression wave and start moving. you can punch him out of this phase if you can do enough damage to him while the tank is tethered and then interupt him when he casts the fist into the ground thing.
the second bomb phase when they follow you you can't stay on this ledge beacuse you have the bomb fragments that will explode near you and kill you. you have about the first 12 seconds or so to stand on the ledge before you have to start running for real but by then it should be an easy run around for your group.
Suddenly you're in the last 25 or so percent of the fight where he does supression wave has bomb fragments running around to contend with which is pure chaos but is still doable for the people who are bred for raiding.

here is my warrior tanking build right now.

Huh, the ledge thing sounds excessive, we don't have any trouble with the suicide bombing adds, we just have the guy they're tracking stand near the wall and we just dps/cc them all. The tether trick sounds useful though, We'll try that.

My silver KV run was 26 minutes without a single death until someone stood in the Exanite on the large boss, heh. Second boss is relatively complicated but I've been one-shotting it with guild members recently.
- You should be stacking up as much as possible and moving around as a group. This means that the bombs will always move to predictable locations and you can avoid them as a group while keeping DPS up. - Before the phase where someone gets targeted, you should be stacked up near the door. The first target should run to the corner you're nearest to and not start moving across to the other corner until they're much closer. Everyone else should be cycling roots and knockdowns on the adds while DPSing them. Coordination during this phase is important. As the target timer hits zero people shouldn't panic and run away from the mobs too quickly in anticipation of being selected because there is always a two second window for the new target to run away after it is announced. - Healer and tank should both ideally have a CC break of some form so they aren't always reliant on others breaking them out of tethers. - Interrupt suppression wave. You don't have to interrupt every single one but it helps tone down the madness and increases DPS with higher uptime and MoO.

Even stalkers?
We were reminded the hard way that tactical retreat drops all threat T.T
|
Yeah obviously if your CC break drops threat then you shouldn't use that.
Basically everyone should focus tethers down whenever they appear.
|
slavemaster isn't really a hard fight its just got about a minute of pure chaos at the end that you need to step up and focus on whats going on on the screen and react to it.
|
Yeah, got it second time last run, but then went full retard on the last boss and spent an hour of either 2+ people (almost always including the healer) dying to blades, or complete communication meltdown where two people just ignoring an orb going between them...
T.T
Should be easy to get silver though, since we can reliably do every boss in 1-2 tries, except for the random total brain failures~~~
|
The last boss is extremely easy. Assign everyone a corner before you start with one leftover guy as backup for anyone who screws up. Tank him in the middle of the room, everyone should run towards the outside then face the boss focusing on surviving the exanite while picking up orbs. Interrupt volcanic strike throughout. Not much to it tbh.
|
Oh and use the little ledges near the entrance to the room to completely dodge the first exanite phase. Bit hard to describe over text but I'm sure you can find pictures of it somewhere.
|
I know, we normally get him first try, for some reason this combination of players just went full retard and we kept all dying somehow. Depressing as hell :<

Hey everyone! I dont know if I'm allowed to ask this; But can anyone spare me a guest pass so I might play! I would be very down to join anyone's guild who needs it. Thank you very much!

i've already mentioned this in this thread man. your best "begging strategy" is to head over to twitch.tv and find a guy playing WildStar with less than 15 viewers. half the guys in my clan, "Kramerica Industries", got a guest code in minutes using this strat.
chances are he'll exchange you "following his stream" for his 7 day guest pass. or (s)he'll just give it to you out of the goodness of his or her heart. many players do not even realize they have any "guest passes" to hand out... so you might have to coach the guy through it.
i've arleady given away my guest passes.

Got to 1800 today and am 75% through attunement dungeons, with just Swordmaiden left. Skullcano is a very fun dungeon, although the numerous bugs in it can be really annoying sometimes when going for a silver run.

Stormtalon Silver!
FUCK YEAH
