![]() ![]() Both sides use the new(ish) beta drivers! The radeon one was just released last night? but the nvidia one a bit before that, i just didn't update yet. Also new driver family from nvidia soonish~? (343?) ![]() It begins! (cinebench temp check for 4.6@1.32 2-core) gonna do some longish benchmarks now on farside lol 180fps cap the moment i logged in with 2c2t @4.6ghz and gtx770 @1280mhz, 75% load ![]() My first thoughts: Performance is probably affected some going 2 cores to 4 because CPU load between 2 cores above 80% at times, but also that it performs really damn well if you have two fast cores I did a long benchmark (like an hour) but apparently fraps doesn't like that, so i'l do a few shorter ones~ Everything max aside from view distance (512), small object detail (low) and dynamic shadows (off) - gtx770 @1280mhz rarely at 100% load fighting on farside moon ![]() Flying around Farside (literally) ![]()

I definitely sense that Warriors are currently the most ridiculous class in arena but I don't feel afraid of Stalkers atm. Double Stalker is incredibly annoying in 2's because of how easy it seems to be for them to reset (the first time I came across them I had no idea that Potions of Vision could be used in arena), but beyond that they feel more manageable than Warriors. If I had to name my ideal comp it would be Warrior OR Stalker + Spellslinger + me as healing Esper. Stalker/SS/Esper reminds me the most of RMP from WoW, which is the comp I played the most of back in the day. Unfortunately my friend didn't feel like rolling either of those classes and went for an Engineer instead. I'm happy with that since they still offer a 30% (75% if t8) healing debuff, though I've heard that that's very bugged at the moment.

I'm not sold on engies at the moment in pvp at all they seem to be way to front oriented and if you can get any circle strafe action on them their dps drops like a rock. Espers are an enigma, they're either mobility gods that roam around like warriors wish they could or they get blown the f up at the first slight wind that they feel. Health debuffs feel like they are bugged but in reality they are working perfectly. in arenas healing already gets a 50% debuff so the healing debuffs on top of that don't do as much to compensate. Also I don't know how gadgets and lifesteal works with the healing debuffs so who knows. People went double healer 1 dps comps in beta and they wrecked the entire meta so they had to change that from happening.

I'm not saying that the healing debuffs are bugged when they are applied; I've just been told that the Engineer's version (Unstable Anomaly) fails to hit its target most of the time. I've not heard any reports on the Warrior or Stalker version not working. I've not played the Engineer but my arena partner finds it very difficult to lock people down or chase targets when they are trying to escape. It definitely feels that way, and most of our kills come when I've landed a long CC chain on their healer with their DPS tunnel visioning one of us in the open. The main problem I have with my current arena partner is that he just doesn't play defensive when it is necessary. I understand that the Engineer's peeling ability is not as strong as other classes but there are other things like LoSing ranged damage when appropriate or resetting to heal up that he just won't do. ![]()

Wow. They're right. solid 15+ FPS boost across the board. Can now run the game on high (except shadows, of course) with ~45-50FPS. I don't expect much more but that's great. If I put it on medium it pretty much always stays on the high 50's. Thanks for letting me know. it's still not the performance I should get, but it's getting much closer. Guess I'll finally play a bunch again!

I'm literally sitting at the 180 cap in some areas (inside housing, farside moon outdoors in empty places) and often averaging >120 for minutes while questing. I was doing that with my GPU underclocked and two cores of my CPU disabled, because it wasn't GPU bound or relying heavily on >2 cores

It does nothing for people like me who sit at 55 FPS all day, no matter the settings you will see a lot of "wow i got from 20 to 50 FPS". But you will not see "wow, i got from 60 to 80 FPS", because it doesnt help with the CPU problem at all. MY GPU was allready underclocking itself in this game, this doesnt help me at all.

Actually the settings don't really matter much for me either. It's just always been this bad and I KNOW it can perform much better than it does. I don't think a 6950 with 2GB is by any means bad and I got a reasonable performance increase. I go up to 80 when idle from time to time and could probably go higher with lower settings and more optimization. The CPU problem isn't a problem to do with WildStar, it's a problem to do with the fact that AMD CPU's just aren't very efficient at all. For MMO's and RTS's and things alike, Intel CPU's have always been much superior because the games don't run on a lot of cores anyway. Intel beats AMD hands down in terms of efficiency so you'll always have a better time in intense games (for your CPU atleast). The problem mostly lies with AMD's architecture, not with WildStar or drivers
