I own LE and would certainly be interested in playing some games with the TL community!
Shortly after I purchased my copy of BB I signed up for the league(s) on TL that were running at that time, but it seems I joined just as activity died and haven't actually played since.
Still installed, still fun!

I'm probably interested again, but be warned: TL is an international community, and scheduling games is a nightmare. If you leave it up to the players to get them played, they probably won't happen.

From experience with the last tournament that was run, the idea of setting aside one day / afternoon and smashing out 3-4 games with everyone on at the same time is probably going to be more effective than a multi-week league...

yep, you are probably in UTC+10 timezone, i'm in UTC+1, and if we've got a western american in our grop he is in UTC-7/8...
so if there's a league or tournament to be had i guess it's better to organize brackets based on that >.>

this game is the most rage inducing game i ever played lol,sc2is nothing compared to it haha, yiou know the kind of game you get beat by someone you were dominating al game and were in good position ,are 3-4 men up but then opponent pulls off an impossible move to get the ball like 3dodge , 2 going for it and a 2D block against him with no rerolls, succeed, then rolls a 6 on the pickup, now its my turn i get tackle the ball guy with a 2Dblock i get double skull reroll into push, frenzy get in .. bam double skull ,turnover, pull up a 5 for the dodge then 2 6 for the launch and catch on a bomb and scores....all that on turn like 15 lol

Yeah - on their own its possible to schedule times that suit, but getting all 3 regions on at same time could be a challenge.
That said, there were several from each region (US/EU/Asia) last time we tried, so divisions followed by playoffs might work

Oh, so you did like smaller regional divisions and then overall playoffs? There are usually okayish ways to coordinate like EU and USE, but as soon as USW and, even worse, Aussies enter the pool logistics go down the drain instantly. =D

Oh my goodness... O_o TeamLiquid Blood Bowlers!!

IT IS TIME TO BALL!!!

There are multiple international leagues that very easily deal with this issue. You can also setup a round robin league within the game.... The way the other leagues handle it is to just let everyone schedule a game a week. If there's a no show, there's an option in the system to forfeit the player. All we would have to do is setup a forum for scheduling. Anybody who doesn't send out an invite (and other does) will forfeit the match. The winning player gets 2 MVPs, 2 TDs randomly distributed, and all the winnings.

I'm part of 2 leagues and the competition is fierce, so you might not want me to play

But if this league doesn't get kickstarted and some of you guys feel the itch... you can join the following league:

www.oldworldfootball.com

This 40-team league is styled after the NFL. It's uber competitive and very difficult to get into. There's a waiting list... but we have side leagues, stat tracking, ranking and tournaments to keep you occupied while you wait. Our community is also great and very welcoming to new coaches. For the franchise league (the 40 team one), our commissioner has made his own custom UI for team db files... That means we can play through LAN, which means we can play with customized team files! That means we can play LRB6 races such as Slann and Choas Pact! We also have all of the star players available from the table top Blood Bowl. It's ridiculously fun. At the end of the 16 week season, the playoffs begin. Some games are live streamed, we have a fantasy football league based on our players, and we have a gambling section. The attention everybody puts into the league is what makes it very fun. This league is American based, but we have many European players.

www.orca-cola.com

This is another hardcore league but it's geared for an "RPG" approach to blood bowl. You start out with a fresh team in the "Snotling League". Once you finish that, you can then enroll in the Orca Cola League.... it's currently made up of 6 divisions with the bottom 5 divisions made up of 36 teams divided evenly into 4 groups. You play all of the other teams in your group Round Robin style, and at the end of the season, the the top 2 teams from each group are moved up to the next division! The top division... division 1 has only 1 group and has very cutthroat rules. Finish 1st or 2nd within the division or get demoted to division 2. 1st place and 2nd place teams from Division 2 are moved up. The teams and coaches at this division are epic, and they can obviously "ball". This league is European based, but some American players (such as myself) are enrolled and playing.

I'd probably play in a TL league if one goes down (depending upon rules and stuff.) Do we have anyone willing to organize one?

It really doesn't take much organizing though. Basically just need a dozen people to show interest. No point in planning ahead it if there isn't any interest.

well we do have that dozen actually, i counted the ppl showing interest here and it looks like we're 14, more or less

so, do we just need someone with the time and a functioning pc to organize it? :D

btw, this is obviously considering that LE is compatible with CE, as every poster here seems to agree with

best use for a treeman most of the time: just stand in the way.

Watched it. Sadly he was just playing against the AI. I guess its because he needs to brush up on the mechanics.
Would love to see him move towards online matches.

The guys at TGS (the youtube organization TB is in) are starting a bloodbowl league, like a 8 player format starting in febuary. So we'll at least get some more youtube content.

I would be interested in helping organise a league although these days I just don't have enough time to organise it myself.
I'd be down with keeping excel sheets and scores etc at work though : )!

Best use for treemen is not taking them at all. Wood Elves along with Goblins and Skaven are probably the best races overall since mobility and dexterity is king in this game, allowing you to score insanely fast and easy. Sure, you won't be worth a dime in combat but if you focus on combat you've pretty much lost already.
Time is precious. Waste it wisely.
