With the current sale of the CE over at steam and our last thread on Blood Bowl being over 2 years old, it's time to reinstate a thread dedicated to the glorious god of Nuffle. Maybe, just maybe we can also find enough people to host another TL inhouse league.
What the fuck is this about? Blood Bowl is a spin-off of the Warhammer tabletop series. In it's essence it is a mixture of American Football, MMA and... chess (or "Warhammer+NFL+Turn based strategy=Blood Bowl"). 23 various Warhammer races from Elves and Dwarves all the way to Undead and Chaoz fight against each other on the field. The basic rules are simple: Two teams, one ball. Whoever scores more touchdowns wins. The "Blood" part in "Blood Bowl"? Just bribing some referees to look the other way, purchasing illegal magic and cracking some bones here and there to make sure the enemy team has less able players than you do. Nothing special.
PS: If you do own the original Blood Bowl, Dark Elves or the Legendary Edition you can use the product key to purchase the Chaos Edition for 10$ directly from the devs here.

From what I understand it adds 3 races (Chaos Dwarves / Khorne / Underworld) and mostly some cleanups like better search functions for MP, a new stadium, some bugfixes, basic stuff like that. You can still play with anyone who has the LE.

LE also received a patch with all the bugfixes etc. Only buy CE if you actually want to play any of the new races or pitches.
Personally, I would prefer mini one-day tournaments to a league. After the tournaments and people learn the basics, we could start up a league.
The structure for the one-day tournaments could be 8 participants in single elimination so there only need to be seven games played. That way, the games could be done sequentially, which is nice if there is a commentator+streamer who the other participants (and non-participants) could watch and learn from. That would help draw the noobs into the game and get them to play in the league as well as getting people to buy the game and play.
@Durak/ShloobeR: If you guys are up for it we can get together and figure something out for a potential League / some warmup event to get people rolling. To be frank I haven't organized a league myself, I only stared in awe at the old inhouse threads on TL - so I'm a bit hesitant to try and get it done on my own.
That is a lot more games then what was proposed before.
8 player single elimination would be a first round of 4 games (for each player), then a semifinal, and a final. Meaning you get a total of 7 games, and a maximum of 3 games per player.
Well, I think my idea is pretty fantastic. The only reason I am not going ahead with organizing it is that:
1. I'm new to the game (so I wouldn't be able to commentate) 2. I'm quite busy now and in January
It really doesn't take much organizing though. Basically just need a dozen people to show interest. No point in planning ahead it if there isn't any interest.

I will check that out as soon as I get home! Got the original BB for xmas 2 years ago :D Although I'd probably play Dark Elves anyway which were already included in my version..
