Ebenol, play like this with Romans:
level your fields so that your crop production is always half, or more than half of your clay production. Your wood production should be just below clay, and just below wood is your iron production. Don't exceed 60 with wood, clay, or iron.
So basically:
Clay fields should have the highest output, except for crop. Crop is to never fall below half of the clay's production.
Wood should be just below clay in production.
Iron should be just below wood in production.
So, if you have two level 1 clays, you'll have one level 1 wood, and level 0 irons.
All clays L1, 3 L1 woods, 2 L1 irons, etc.
Then, once you reach 60/60/60 your crop should be at 42, I think.
Then up your main building to L3, get a rally point, and then your barracks.
Then, make legionnaires like crazy. Stop makign them at 30, and keep raiding everything around you. Don't raid anyone bigger than about 40 pop without some knowledge of what they have. Use your raiding to increase your income. Get a marketplace and trade away any resources you have excess of. Then tech to Equ Imps, get 100 or so, and raid raid raid. Then get imps for offense, preats for defense along with your legs, and just keep raiding and growing.

Meh, romans need higher iron production. Right now i have 24/24/48 (i havent upgraded fields in a long time) Clay becomes less important later in the game. Wood becomes more important.

Yea, thats the reason i chose romans. But now its really annoying how weak they are offensively until EI's

Look guys, even at low levels raiding > fields, thus your focus should be to get an army ASAP, meaning immediately.

Put a trade up on the market, I can trade 1k wood for 750 crop or something like that. I need wood to get pallies though.

Okay, this is gonna take a while. I have my lvl 5 acad, now i need lvl 3 blacksmith + lvl 5 stable + Research costs.

OK, im thinking about starting some shit against * DV * NE. TTs have helped me some, but I'm going out 40 minutes plus to find decent farms. I'm an impatient mofo and want to grow faster, so this state of affairs is pissing me off.
On the other hand, I have 6 DV NE memebers all around me, the largest about 150 pop, the lowest about 60 pop. So I'm thinking, instead of going around them, why not start farming them. I'm thinking that with 20 phalanx, 10 sword, and 12 TTs and a lvl 2 wall, I can devote a full day or 2 and attack them all, kill their shit, and just keep them down with constant raiding. If it works, I'd have at least 2-3 decent farms for a while, but if it doesn't I could be pretty much fucked for a while.
U guys think this is a bad idea? I still need to tek the swords, so there's time to talk me out of it

Oh, you can start stuff against them, because we are already farming many of their members. However, 40 minutes is very very short for farming, I'm farming people 3 to 4 hours away. Do request more scouting of 30~50 pop villages, especially teutons, so you can hit them with TTs

OK, mass raiding against TV NE starting tonight. If you got any close to you, farm them. Their top guy should be interesting to take out. Thankfully, we got Neo's help

decaf if your fields aren't at at least 60/60/60/x it's going to take a while unless you're raiding and not losing any Legs at all. Romans need a good economical base. It's like trying to 9/10 PvZ and then never building any more probes and trying to go sair after.
Okay, bad analogy, but shut the fuck up.
If you want a fast army, go Teuton. If you want to grow slowly at first and then have stronger units later on, go Romans. I don't know what Gauls are good for. It seems like every Gaul I meet that isn't a TL member is getting ass-raped.

Wow, so many non tl-ppl in Sea now. Are we sure this is a great idea? I know a lot of us aren't concentrating as much on s5 as s4, but still, it'd be nice if it was primarily a tl alliance. that's why i started playing this silly game anyways....
