So then I get more by getting a +15 don't I?? I don't get what you mean by how you get more by upgrading form 7-8 :/

When you expo, you can't expo say 20 spaces away, so yoru expo doesn't enlarge your raiding radius all that much. Typical raiding distance could be up to 40 squares away. The raiding time is only a multiplier on your effective raiding capacity, which you can always enlarge by building more units. Units>expo right now.

Like I said, I've already invested in the residence, so I'm expoing regardless. I want that 9 field before someone else grabs it. Plus, Kazansky already raids almost everyone around me dry, har.

Also, how does raiding with settlers work? They supposedly have a carry capacity of 1600...

Go ahead and expo, I think one of the most important reasons to do so is so that somebody else doesn't get the 9 or 15 crop villages which are valuable later. I don't think a tournament ground is that useful, because it only reduces the travel time only after 20 spaces of traveling. It's not a pure 10% less travel time per lvl. Instead of expanding my raiding range past 2.5 hours, I've began attacking active people and people in weak alliances, so I won't need to expand it too soon.

TT tech for me was finished yesterday... so that took me a full two weeks. the second week was spent raiding absolutley constantly too... So you shouldnt assume you can get TT's realy quick. Need ~40 phalanx to constantly do 3 raids of 13 phalanxes, and fram like a madman
