If you didn't play Vanilla MvC3, you really won't understand why people are fine with Phoenix now despite the type of mechanic or playstyle she'll force the game into. And either way, Filipino Champ wins PRIMARILY on the strength of his great Mags/Doom play. Those 2 characters opening up people are the reason why he can still attempt his Phoenix team. And watching his FGTV streams, he'll even beat people using NORMAL Phoenix. Phoenix back then was ridiculous b/c you could tank with your 2 characters and easily build to 5 without even spending too much effort extending combos. Now, the team synergy really makes the difference in how you get to Phoenix. Only FChamp & pre UMvC3 Flocker (Zero/Tron was his BnB) made this work. | ||

Believe me, I also hate Phoenix b/c it brings a very negative type of meta to the game. Her + X-Factor are the pinnacle of what a comeback should not be lol. Either way, I really believe that team synergy is the key to Marvel...Unfortunately we're not really seeing that at all, now that all these glitches knock out any chance of people finding team tech like the Japanese (MameSpider & Kusoru) are showing us. | ||
