Got the endgame weapon and off hand for weaving. It was a huge pain in the ass but it's worth it. Professions are really fun and challenging, crafting is giving me as much fun as raiding.

I got really lucky on Garuda NM because DF put me in with a group from legacy server so that was ez. You can't really DF HM Titan though. The second tank doesn't serve any purpose. I'm one of the few people on my server with full darklight and no relic. Of course every group that has run it either doesn't respond or wants gil. Wishing I joined a different FC with more dedicated people.

Just started the game, sorry newb question here: is there a way to turn on auto targeting (and attack without having to mouse right click on the mob each time)?
Haven't done any dungeons yet, in the early ones, you need light parties of 4. 1 tank, 2 dps, 1 healer is the general build correct?
Is the only job that fits the healer role Conjurer only? Or can Arcanist be good enough? Like in FFXI, SMN/WHM worked just fine in many instances as the primary healer.

Arcanist can heal and even gets the battle rez earlier than conjurer.
But the dungeonfinder will not let you queue as healer until you unlock the scholar, which is the lvl 30 arcanist healing specialisation.
I played scholar to like 35, but in their current form i CAN NOT STAND the stupid pet ai.
There is no way of preventing the heal pet to waste your only powerful ae healing spell. And the pet itself will pause after every heal, only using like 60% of its potential. So you are forced to manually use the heal every 2.5 seeconds. BUT you cant do that during your own cast times for some reason. But you CAN cast your spells during pet cast times.
So that adds just a crap ton of annoying stuff.
Also, the pets are not immune to indirect ae, but only take reduced ae damage, Which means aes that apply debuffs on them will just devestate the pet as that debuff is not reduced.

Arcanists do indeed unlock the job Scholar which is the only other healer in the game along with CNJ/WHM.

Right now there is no real effective way to make money efficiently, it's being complained about quite a bit on lodestone. Hope something changes soon, I'd just recommend spending very little on teleports.
At least the repairs costs are going down with this patch.

Ah I see - but what does not let you queue as healer actually mean though? Does it mean they won't let you into the dungeon run unless your party has a "healer"?
For instance if I create a party of: gladiator, DPSX2, arcanist manually, I cannot enter?

If you create full party manually you can get in as any (DoW DoM) job as you want. In fact I did everything up to Titan as 4 ACN.

People are just butthurt. FFXI had WAY less way to generate gil than FFXIV and that didn't stop it from inflating out of control in 2-3 years. It's mostly people who are in the "why I can't get everything NOW!" crowd. In first few years FFXIV you get to run dungeon once every 3 days and a relic weapon took 2 years instead of 2 days. In fact, get your first job to max level usually took a year. Now people get to max level in 2 days, spend 100k to start relic weapon, and non stop grind dungeon. Well, SURPRISE, you are broke!
I'm sure those people would love the rate you can get gold in D3, where everything cost a billion.
If you want a game economy to last multiple years, you can't expect it to mature in a couple weeks. Now, if you want to just locust through a game and move on to the next shiny new thing, well, then I'm glad it's not working out for you.

I guess I must be cheating while making 300k a day then. It's not hard to make money in this game, people are just too stupid to do something different than grind dungeons. By a shitty set of 45 gear. Soulbind it. Break it down into materia. Make 300k. Easy.

You can enter. The restriction is only for using the auto-party finder in the game. The first time I did the first dungeon I went in as an Arcanist with 3 Pugilist party members. It worked out just fine. The only problem you run into healing as an Arcanist is that you don't get a status effect cleansing spell until level 40.

If you actually wanted to do crafting last week you would have been completely out of lucky without guild support.
The prices for 46+ mats are extremely low now such that you could probably afford to buy the mining and botany rare spawn materials without having a guild member feed you hundreds of rare mats.
