Wondering if Yoshi is trying to emulate the Japanese economy in FFXIV /s ... what is with you? That's the second time you posted that in this thread. Guess I am just bringing my frustration from the SE forums here. Thing is retarded and the community's ignorance over there is making it worse.
As a crafter, I already quit the game over this. I'm an economic consultant, and once I realized how bad the market was, I said "F this" and haven't touched the game for 3 days.

As an economic consultant, I'd imagine you would do more research on supply and demand before jumping into making stuff and hope to make money.

what's wrong with the the economic of ff14? where's the link of that frustration of SE forum post about this?

It's noobshits not knowing how to do crafts properly. I have full relic weapon and still have 300,000 gil.

Lack of trash loots means your "starting supply" of gil you get through questing + leveling to 50 has a max amount (something like 300k at most I think), and for endgame PvE you will be spending a lot of gil on teleporting and repair bills.
Also, crafting requires a lot of mats across multiple crafting classes, so you are basically required to level a gathering class, which is time that people aren't willing to invest.
|
Crafting is a long term investment rather than get quick schtick. Same thing in XI, you can't make any money crafting til maxed out. It's more of a compliment to what you are doing on fighting jobs than an actual career path.
|
Just hit level 30, I was wondering should I be concerning myself with socketing my gear at this point? I literally have not started any crafting and don't really understand the socketing system. Also what should whitemages be gemming for?
|
nah.
as dps and heal you just need a weapon that isnt 10 levels behind. As tank you want maybe a weapon withing 5 levels because otherwise you could have problems with mobs running around. And as tank you also want reasonable armor, but it doesnt need to be your level + materias in them.
as whitemage, just pick up the occasional armor from quests and get a new weapon when the old one is 10 levels old. If its 5 levels old and a quest has a better one as reward, you can take that.
|
there is no need to worry about materia until you get to 50, don't worry, your lvl 1 lvl 2 materia will still have plenty of use then.

Yo im WARRIOR playing server: DIABOLOS
I have been trying to do garuda for the past 3 days. I tank everything he is throwing at us with no problem. But the problem is that my team mates are braindead........ they cant even dodge garuda level 1 aoe and im getting so fuuuuuuuuuuuucking tired of not being able to pass this cause my allies cant dodge a fucking aoe ( good lord they only need to press 1 key on the keybord and they cant do it, sc2 must be a lifetime challenge for them)
So i would like to know if anyone playing diabolos would like to come help me pass this trial.
p.s. same shit happened to me vs Titan LAWL.

There is one two pages ago, theres a few actually on the first few pages of the general disucssion. Just read it and facepalm at the lack of reading comprehension in that thread with people derping it up with irrelevant anecdotes on their personal earning abilities. It's pretty hilarious if you read it from start to end.

yes we got it, you read the reddit post about this and now you are on a crusade.
But for the next 2-3 months a huge amount of people are leveling and completing quests for huge amount of gil, so this is not an issue right now. So you might as well wait for the patch that adds daylies before you call everyone else dumb.
So i did all the guildhests and i think they should be mandatory for everyone. Like, dont let them enter an instance of that level before they didnt do the guildhest. I was surprised i got the "kill all 5 bosses at once while they are andomly invulnerable" at the first try. I guess the people that got that far are all decent players...or i was lucky.
The last one took me by surprise, i was expeting adds of 3 colors that must be seperated, but it was completely different. Got it on the 2nd try after yelling at everybody to split up between targets like 10 times.

I have no idea how to make money in this game. Weaving costs lots of money and supporting the last 10 levels seems impossible as of now.
|
I don't read reddit, I really don't agree with the community.
I have more of an issue with how contained DoH is rather than deflation but if you think that pointing the issue 2 times with one reply is a crusade then whatever. Having left my WHM in the dust a while ago and maxing GSM, WVR, and MNR, how DoH interacts with DoW is something that I am willing to start a crusade against.
|
In my opinion I don't think the DoH classes were supposed to be bought out and leveled all in 1-2 days. You're supposed to spend time doing DoL classes to get the mats for your DoH leves/supply leves and then level up like that. Sure it'll take much more effort, but you'd be making quite a bit of money off it.
The only people who are complaining are the ones who want to level it all in one day like in WoW then make a killing off it.
|
I'm guessing most of the people complaining have not played FFXI or were spoiled by WoWs "crafting" (aka power your way to max level in 1 day huehuehue). Don't try to plow your way to any max craft. Take it slow. If it doesn't take you a few months, at the very least, then you're doing it wrong. Gil will accumulate, as will crafting materials. Give it time for gods sake.
EDIT: Just read the guy above me. Damn it. I'm redundant.

started an arcanist in Diablos, char name is Medivh Tirisfal. add me if you want to party

It's ridiculously easy to make money from DoH, DoL classes. I made a killing selling HQ Lapis since I had to level mining without leves leaving me with a hoard of materials. That only requires something like level 20 GS and MNR. However if you looked at the high level gear (ilvl 90 Allagan pieces) they all seem to be missing materia slots same as Darklight gear. Since you can't repair other peoples gear either the interactions between DoH and DoW is really limited. It doesn't help that crafted HQ crafted gear with top materia doesn't exceed darklight gear to a noticeable amount to be worth the effort. Relic weapons seems to be the saving grace.

Anybody know when digital download is going to be available again? I went to like 20 different stores around me with no success in finding a PC version of the game, plenty of PS3 versions tho

Watashi no Nihongo wa yokunai desu. Machigai ga areba odorokanaide.
My two favorite phrases on my server. Communicating is part of the fun imo. Auto-trans be damned!
