Which one is the most useful / fun to play for end game content? Especially, I'm afraid of the comparison with WoW mage which was pretty much one button mashing in raid. Im a lvl 50 blm. gld/pld is the best tank because they have on use % damage reduction, this becomes very important starting at hard mode titan and into coil. I dont know much of their moveset after lvl 20 though. blm is very high dps. It is top end on every fight so far. I am not sure what you are expecting in terms of dps skill sets for blm. Fire III -> spam filler Fire I, use Fire III on firestarter proc, use Thunder III on thunderhead proc -> use swiftcast + flare + convert every 3 minutes -> if < 1077 mana Blizzard III -> Thunder II -> Fire III - tag another Fire III so that it gets the spell haste -> repeat Use swiftcast on fire III sometime in your rotation if you buff falls off, or you need to move.

(except for no open world pk) Ok, ive written about this earlier in the thread but here goes. * Its old school tab target and not hitbox/hurtbox a la tera. * 2.5 sec gcd, with skill speed/spell speed decreasing the gcd.. HOWEVER, the spell/skill speed stat is very weak. For example, I have 464 spell speed atm and it only reduces my gcd from 2.5 to 2.37/2.38. * no active iframe skills a la tera. You move move out of the red circles/ lava / poison / purple stuff/ whatever. * .3 sec server updates on your character position. This sucks because hard mode ifrit/titan you have to dodge VERY fast or you get hit with huge damage. This doesnt matter for ifrit, but it does for hm titan. ANY lag = you get exploded for 2800 damage. Since you have no iframe abilities theres not much you can do if your latency is like 300 or higher, its pretty much gg for your raid. *Gathering is worse than crafting. No gp regen abilities/tradeoffs like cp/control abilities for crafting. Seems tacked on. However, crafting/gather is still more involved that other mmos. *Its tab target *bots man, bots, they be taking all my sweet sweet botany profits. *Its tab target I might think of more in the future.

tab targeting in this game sucks. The game will alternate every targetable enemy on your screen regardless if they are in range of you or not when you hit tab.

That is unless Yoshi wanted to model the FFXIV economy after the Japanese one. The economy is player driven. Regardless of how many different money sinks and things in the end prices are set by people. The only thing it might do is delay weapons/armor on the market which people won't be able to afford anyways. On my server relic host weapons are being sold for like 40k which isn't shit.

I'll link you to this thread which might explain it better than me. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forum.php#threads/80869/?page=50 Basically so far the only way to generate (not earn) is through vendoring, quest rewards (finite), and leves. Once people have exhauseted the quests then they have to rely on leves which give pitiful gil rewards. Vendoring anything other than allagan pieces is laughable. Contrast this to the travel costs, AH cut, and repair costs.

This is my first MMO since Everquest (which I also didn't enjoy), and boy am I bored. It's a completely mindless experience that felt like it took forever. Part of it is balancing (the monsters are incredibly weak), but even if it were harder I would just... die. With a handful of abilities there isn't much I could do to gain an edge. I read a couple reviews, and none of them mentioned that it would be that boring. It makes me feel like an alien, am I really that weird? I can't even begin to understand the appeal of this game. Is the fact that it's an MMO supposed to make up for the fact that it's shit? I've developed this sick fascination where I keep playing it, just to get it. I still don't. FFXIV, you win, I give up. At least I learned a valuable lesson: I don't like MMOs.

It just depends on the person.

WoW to really get the most out of it you had to raid, you had to be a a top guild to really see the content and get the most out of it. WoW nowadays you can see the content without a guild. However if you want to tackle the same content at a higher difficulty you will have to find one. And if you are okay not doing the top level of difficulty you don't have to find a top guild asking for commitment. (there are 3 level of difficulty (4 maybe now idk), LFR which is for everyone, Normal which is for average guilds and Heroic which is for good guilds). All can see content but the challenge and reward are different depending on what difficulty you chose. That's the PvE part, PvP hasn't really changed since BC. Guild Wars 2 is probably one of the most casual friendly mmo game out there too. It's entertaining but really don't ask for commitment and may be a good fit for someone that just want to log once in a while. If you want to pour in dozens of hours achieving difficult tasks however, you'll get bored imo. Some stuff are grindy and take time for those that want to play a lot but they don't impact your power.

If you cant stomach it then you wont like the genre :p there is nothing wrong with you some people just have a high tolerance for repetition.

Some people, myself included, enjoy the repetition from time to time. I'm usually watching some TV show or stream and it's just a wonderful way to relax.
