This is a common complaint at lower levels. It's too easy and you have too few abilities to utilize. The only consolation I can offer is that if you do manage to get through that, it gets better later on.

Just so that I can start farming them, does anyone know where to get quicktongue III materia? Specific items or is it a random crapshoot?

Game was enjoyable to me right up until the 1gb patch... Sure it made it easier to login but post patch I crash... ALOT. Bsod CTD, ran every memory test, changed drivers reformatted redl game etc etc, alot of people are having this problem and SE basically refuses to respond to it.
Ended up cancelling and giving up, spent a whole day troubleshooting what appears to be a perfectly working PC.

I read a couple reviews, and none of them mentioned that it would be that boring. It makes me feel like an alien, am I really that weird? I can't even begin to understand the appeal of this game. Is the fact that it's an MMO supposed to make up for the fact that it's shit? I've developed this sick fascination where I keep playing it, just to get it. I still don't.
FFXIV, you win, I give up. At least I learned a valuable lesson: I don't like MMOs. repetition is literally the bread and butter of mmos. If you cant stomach it then you wont like the genre :p there is nothing wrong with you some people just have a high tolerance for repetition.
I liked MMOs because they were more about making your mark in the playerbase, and you had to play the community as much as the game itself. If you weren't enjoyable to play with or didn't have the right connections, you wouldn't make it far in a MMO. Then WoW came along and now everything's automated, and you can hit max level without ever talking to another player or learning how to function in a group. The same automation destroys the immersion that we used to feel, which was a huge draw of the genre. There's not a lot of incentive to stick with modern MMOs, unless you like doing repetitive tasks to pass the time, usually with annoying people.

you still have all that, its just not required for leveling since everyone just wants to soloquest these days. But after leveling its the same as always.

7k each on my servers Marketplace (compared to 80k for most of the other classes Relic Reborn materias), so could be worth checking.

Edited my post to be more specific.
What professions complement each other? Which would you recommend to start leveling up first and any specific reasons why. Thanks a bunch guys!

holy crap, those dungeons xD
I just tried lvl 35 dungeon with a dutyfinder group. That is just insane, especially the last fight. Kill adds in specific places, dodge 234234 laser beams, unavoidable room ae, areas becoming prisons after a few seconds and one dps has to go in to nuke down something that otherwise kills half the group while others stay out. Then the same prisons, but multiple at once. Then 345345345 laser bams PLUS the prisons.
We almost did it, but some dps players are just learn-resistant...
also, raondom trash mobs having a short timed enrage after which they 1 shot someone, we didnt know until after our tank died 3 times to it.
so much fun, i need a guild now though.

There's a level 35 dungeon? I am 37 and never got access to it

Sunken temple of qarn is an optional dungeon. You really need to find a fc or at least a ls with some good people if you want to do challenging content @ max level.

There is another growing thread on the forums about the deflationary problems of the economy. Guess people are finally waking up to the heavily flawed monetary system in this game.
Wondering if Yoshi is trying to emulate the Japanese economy in FFXIV /s
|
They will adjust it.
Its not an issue right now as there is plenty of money from all th leveling coming in.
Also, we just did the giant FATE in highlands with 8 people, took us 25 minutes since like 4 of them were tanks. But i got the fish minion now. Was a funy fight.
I gave up on temple as the 2nd time i tried my tank had a lvl 22 weapon and some lvl 18 armor, which is an occasion where i just leave and not even try.

Okay my current state: Black Mage 50 Job gear+Ifrit stick, 40 Botanist, 43 Weaver, 20 Archer, 15 Pugilist. Played Early Acess, working in the week. 400k gil in bank. I have Free company with bunch of people from same nationality, we help each other and start to get used to working togeather. Moogle server.
The difficulty of game ramps up from lvl 35-40, Sunken temple of quarn is really first FUN and CHALLENGING dungeon. Later you will find Hard mode Primals. Ifrit is not difficult it just requires good mechanical execution from group members. Some specific dungeons start to introduce new mechanics like Wanderers Palace or Aurum Vale.
Crafting requires a lot of dedication and cooperation with people. You help low levels to get gear, they farm for you low level materials(OVER 9000.... shards!), while crafters on same level exchange materials between each other, because all recipes require materials from multiple gathering/crafting classes.
The difficulty scales up also around lvl 40 with introduction of Super-crafts. They require base item from dungeon which is usually crap piece of armor or weapon. These recipes require much more craftsmanship due to twice slower progess earning, while having still a lot of Quality points to fill up if you want HQ version.
I heard that 50 level crafts require gathering items that spawn only 1 time in a hour in certain spot. Also you cant even start making high item level recipes until you fullfill stat requirement on your character. High level crafts have comparable strenght as dungeon found gear.
I'm finding a lot of fun currently in the game. I think its pretty much nice balance of dedication of time, individual skill and cooperation with other players. As people stated, game gets much much more interesting if you find buddies to play with on some social linkshells or Free Companies.
Cant wait to finish my relic quest (Currently step 3) and Reach coil of Bahamut.

Guess I am just bringing my frustration from the SE forums here. Thing is retarded and the community's ignorance over there is making it worse.
