Problem is when its data transfer error, then it just kicks you out/cant connect you to server.
Not true, there's a queue you can get in, but most of the time you just get an error saying the world is full try again later.

This is terrible. I don't know how companies are having this much trouble with launches. They had launched FFXI back in 2002 already. And it is not some impossible feat, SWTOR had a flawless launch. There aren't any excuses for having this many problems, and it isn't even problems with lag or quest's bugging, the servers are dead.

Yeah this is starting to be one of the most failed launches I've seen so far in an MMO. Sadly enough.

Well now they're limiting the amount of people onto a server. Quite annoying..

I can play now but had problems some problems before. Tomorrow people are going to work etc so it should be easier to handle for SE , all those kids on weekends breaking the servers x.x

Hey guys, I'm undecided about the class. I would like to try support or ranged magic damage since I always played tank or physical damage in MMOs, does anyone have experience or feedback to give on usefulness of like black mage, bard, white mage etc and how fun they are to use?
|
I'm surprised they still have problems with player numbers, seems like that should be easily fixed.
Besides that, I think people need to relax. It's always like this on MMO launches, did nobody here play during GW2 launch, any WoW expac etc etc the servers get hammered and shit sucks for a few days, then it's all cool.

Pretty normal, companies rather take the rep hit than to double their servers for the first month. Dont know if its a good behaviour, they lose out on subscriptions this way.
Also, whats with the nda for early access, i wanted to watch some gameplay on streams, but...yeah.

GW2 launch was good. Lag for a few hours, 1 hour of downtime, and fine after that. And "other mmos have problems" is no excuse. At the end of the day they are doing a bad job, and there is no other way to look at it. They aren't a small company, they've launched 2 mmos in the past, and they are failing again. I like the game but SE needs to pull their crap together.

Please go and spend all your money then for some extra servers for SE just on the first few days. It's a complete waste of money and more than stupid from a business standpoint. "I paid for something and I expect to use it." Is also not a good counter argument. I'm 100% sure you have fucked up on the job before, someone is paying for that. It's the same thing. Quit crying about completely normal things. It's not failing at all. It's expected. And will continue to be expected as long as MMO's exist. I'm sure they would rather lose your shitty 15 dollars than spend thousands on a server that's only going to be used for a few days.

Try reading a few posts up, and learn about GW2/SWTOR launch. It is not going 'as expected'. And take a deep breath there buddy.

Aside from the duty server issue for about 2 hours, what other problems are leading this to be a failed launch? I have had a near perfect experience so far. Even the maintenance for that they estimated at 3 hours and they fixed it in 1. As for queues, I have always had a number telling me what I was in the queue, no problems there either.
|
The JP servers appear to be fine. If you read the NA/EU community posts, there are tons of complaints about errors both in-game and with the queue system itself due to overpopulation. At any given time anywhere from 3 to almost all the NA/EU servers are closed to login/character creation (can't even get in queue). As far as I know, this is not a problem on any of the JP servers.
|
I've been able to put about 1/3 of the time I could have played into the game this weekend because of server issues. And when I've been online it's been hampered by duty servers not working 50% of the time.

Japan servers have been perfect apparently, or near perfect.
NA/EU have been down multiple times, have had 3+ maintenances that lasted hours, duty finder was down for 12+ hours, there were constant login issues, NA/EU unable to connect, and so forth.

I am not on a JP server, I am on US Midgardsormr and I still didn't have many issues. Perhaps I am just very lucky. Or maybe because of my timezone all the problems are appearing and being fixed while I am asleep.

Definitively, their biggest failure HANDS DOWN is no AFK kicker. The servers are fucking clogged because people can just AFK for hours.
Also, for all of you saying GW2's launch was great: THERE WAS NO AUCTIONHOUSE FOR A WEEK. It destroyed the economy, and made the game stupidly hard for crafters to actually make money, due to the market being flooded forever afterward.

It's just not that big of a deal. What matters most is if you like the game itself. You know they will eventually smooth out the bugs. Not to mention, the bugs seem to all be related to server problems and not gameplay itself.

Are you seriously comparing "no Action House" for a week to " not being able to log on at all " ? lol Seriously, I don't understand why people are defending this game so much when so far what I've seen of it and its model is the worst of what MMO can offer. It's a grind fest of a gameplay, with a subscription model but still with a cash shop, and with apparently a very bad launch situation.
I respect the opinion of people, hut seriously guys, cool down.
