my grafics card is a AMD Radeon HD 6800 , should be good enough, right? 8GB RAM, AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processors :O
Is my stuff not good enough? What can I do? damn....
I remember someone posting his Graphics Settings in here, i think he did multiple ones, they worked good for me back then I think, cant find it anymore though it was so long ago...
Can any1 help me? :<
Arma 2 is horribly optimized so it sucks for almost everyone and their mothers, try windowed mode tho it might help
There is a wide range of people who experience the FPS issues. Personally I run a 3960x Processor, 32GB of Quad channel ram, 580 gtx and still get bad fps issues from time to time. My advice to you is to turn off the grass and shadows. If turning down or off those settings don't help try looking around for different video configurations. Long story short the game isn't really optimized at all, so good luck on finding a fix that works for you.
Damn ;< The game looks so smooth in the Videos of Frankie etc ... and they also Fraps it ;o they must have monster machines then?
No its the settings. The game can be gorgeous while eliminating the features that are clogging up your fps. Basicly in every game you can easily turn off post processing effects to almost double your fps without loosing quality. In Arma 2 you can disable post processing effects, antialiasing (that one eliminates the jaggies, but the fps drop is insane). Also ATOC and PPAA needs to be disabled. Not only does these two make a huge bump in your performance, but it makes it harder to see enemies hiding in the trees as well.
If you have a decent graphics card like GTX580 or above you should atleast have 60 fps right now. The game is very cpu dependent also. Clocking my cpu from 3.2 Ghz to 4 Ghz gained me 30 more fps ........

Or run over them with a bus, it's what me and my friends do anyways.

I'll do it. I will play. I will need to find some reliable friends/allies first....
I just chased 3 guys armed to the teeth with my char called "thewrongmexican" and a machete and killed 2 of them by surprise before barely getting killed by the 3rd with a m4 as I was rushing him. So awesome they never watched their back and that machetes were finally added <3 MACHETE KILLS AGAIN
So I played this game last summer and just managed to get a new PC build and well the mods went from there being just normal DayZ and Lingor to well quite a lot of them...
Any of the new mods recommended? Origins looks pretty cool.
Any groups of TL players still play this game too? It was always much more fun playing with you guys than by myself.
Edit - Just hopped on the TS and saw some familiar faces in the DayZ channel. Hopefully I'll be popping on it some time soon!

Welcome back, I remember you were one of the first ones around. We still play occasionally, but mostly other games tbh till the standalone is out.
Can someone spare me his cdkey ? (someone that quitted playing the mod). or can someone supply me with a very cheap one? I found some 3$ cdkeys on some forums but I do not trust those at all. My cdkey was probably stolen by one of those guys as well.
