No, and Shinbi and ToT)OjKa( are both wrong about it too. + Show Spoiler +It's NOT damage or fire that makes her reappear. It's being staggered that makes her reappear. The easiest way to show this is with throwing knives; they do almost no damage, but will make her reappear with a couple successive hits, and since they stick for a while also make her easier to spot via the floating knife

I want a mod that skips the 30 seconds of producer credits and gfwl loading and warning messages every time I open/restart the game.
Please.

Please. the res fix skips the mods if you enable it.
i don't know what gfwl loading/warning messages - i have it on auto sign in and i have never seen a warning

Sweeeet. I was using an early version of the res mod that didn't have the logo skip option. It doesn't get rid of the 'this game uses an autosave function' message though. Whatever.
is there any point to upgrading the parrying dagger if you only ever use it for parrying?

No, upgrading doesn't do anything for parrying, it would only make the L1/LB quick interrupt attack be stronger. There's little point to using the parrying dagger in the first place though except to look cooler. The target shield and the buckler have the exact same parry, same window and recovery, and can actually block if you really need to.

Just go back but don't drop down into pinwheels tomb, instead walk past on the top right part of the tomb. There is a passageway back there.

Well, unless you've actually killed Nito, you should be able to just climb out I think... and you shouldn't be able to kill nito until you get the lordvessel (should be blocked by fog).

Do not use the fire in Nito's room, instead homeward bone back to the fire in the Tomb of Giants after killing Nito and then walk back out. You can run up around Pinwheel's room to get back from the Tomb of the Giants into the Catacombs.
Edit: Oh, yeah, guy above me called it. Without the yellow fog wall removed how were you going to get to Nito anyway?
|
That's what he means, he realized he can't even get to Nito (I've made the mistake before as well) and he wants to get out of the labyrinth of Catacombs+ToG. There really isn't a fast way besides backtracking, unfortunately.
|
i believe after the area where + Show Spoiler + that if you turn left instead of right, there is a passage way all the way back up. i remember taking it because i had the same problem, went there without laying the lordvessel down and it was blocked. there was some treasure over there also, i didn't even know the place existed, i forget what it was.
|
Yeah, you can backtrack, it's just a pain in the ass to find... My first playthrough, I made it to Anor Londo, but then missed the path from the bridge up to the painting building, so I thought I had to go somewhere else. Tomb of Giants was the only place I hadn't really explored thoroughly yet, so I fought through there in the dark (didn't have the helm and didn't know how to get the lantern to work), and I wasn't really strong enough to easily handle the giant skeletons and skeleton dogs yet. Anyways, I fought my way through, finally made it out to where I could see the light, then I go down the path to find... A yellow fog door. Fuck me.
For reference on how to get out: + Show Spoiler +
Edit @Fyre: There's a link in the video posted explaining what to do if the spikes are flipped, shows another way out I guess.

The really annoying part is that Patches is actually also in the catacombs standing by one of the switches(by the second bonfire I think) and after you cross the bridge he'll push it and flip it back over. I'm not sure of the conditions for him to appear, or how you get back if you do since it happens to me so rarely, but I went on a suicide run through there with a char before getting the lordvessel to get the silver ring and everything else and he was there. I actually got another single humanity from him I didn't know you could get(he gives you a double humanity in the tomb). I think he may have even flipped the bridge into spikes twice, so he may do it every time until you talk to him again. The second time I actually dropped onto the bridge from above, and then went backwards towards where he is(so I could drop down by the scythe) and the bridge flipped after I got off it, so I was able to go straight to patches and confronted him. Also, since he asked if I was a cleric in the catacombs, he never asked that question in the tomb.

Had a great 3v1 against Kalameet, I'm really enjoying the co-op aspect of this game. It's cool that you as a host need to be constantly aware about the positioning of your phantoms and their health, so you can heal them in time, but not to waste too many flask quickly. And also, be warry of not deing stupidly and messing the game for everyone.
Got the sword for his tail, and now the plan is to farm 99 humanities in the abyss and then proceed to final boss.

When you do 3v1 it often becomes diablo style and less emphasis on dodging and fighting techniques. Hence you are always healing your phantoms and some are just retards that just go straight up and fight then die in 3 seconds.
Make sure you have the snake ring and at least 10 humanities in the top left counter to get max item discovery rate.

So how bad is the port? Does the mod DS fix really help most of the horrid issues I've been hearing about from the original version?
|
As a port it is pretty amazingly bad. It's almost more accurate to characterize it as a matter of they jerry-rigged the xbox 360 version to run on PC rather than employing the word port.
With the DS mod and using a controller I have had no problem though. The game itself is great.

ds fix + controller and I have 0 issues and the game is fucking amazing. The fact that you need a fix + controller means the port is technically bad. However, even with the additional cost of a controller the game is so fucking good I don't care in the slightest.
|
I think the port is quite ok. I've been watching some YT vids of game running on Xbox and loading times are horrible compared to PC load times. Also, what my friend who played it on PS3 told me, it seems that there's less lag on PC than on PS3 in some problematic areas.
I played it with xbox controller and ds fix and it was perfect experience.

This game being aimed at PC hardcore gamers, and still being called great although the port is bad, is really something... It's cool that the community has shown tolerance. I was a bit scared when I saw the issues with the port and the initial drama around those, that people might overlook this gem.
