IMO it doesn't, when you design a port or whatever to a new console you should design it with that platform's control set in mind, most PC users don't have a gamepad, so they should design games with keyboard+mouse in mind. The game's pretty good, but it's a shame about the controls, and also about the graphics. Top priority should be to fix that targetting issue, goddamnit that's gotta be the most annoying glitch in the history of gaming.
Enough derailing though. Thanks for answers I managed to jump, and find some more stats using "del" key... WTF? Is del ever used in games? ROFL. I still can't get all the information though, but this will have to do.
One more question, what does paying souls to attone for your sins do/mean?

Yeah the PC controls suck, but generally you don't have to worry about targeting. After some experience you'll probably end up not using the lock on system.

So I have a generic USB Gamepad; it has the exact layout of a PS2 controller, do I have to have a PS3 or Xbox controller? Or can any gamepad work.

Don't worry about souls, you'll earn em back in no time. I just lost 60k souls and shrugged it off, totally used to it by now.

Playing through the game again on PC, the early parts are so easy that I never died and never leveled up, I had like 150k souls or so when I went into Sen's fortress. I made sure to spend some of it since I knew how dangerous that place can be, but I still lost about 100k souls and 2-4 humanity. No big deal.

Also, target cycling problems on PCs aren't a glitch, they just work exactly like on console. On console however, you stop using the camera stick once you're locked, where PC gamers will keep using their mouse to attack etc. It's actually not obvious how they could "fix" it for PC, since they would have to add new buttons for target switching. (Not a big deal, but this is From Software who woudn't even drop the resolution lock, adding new keys is probably FAR more than what you can expect).

Nobody knows, it's a mystery. The creator recommends taking the pendant or nothing on a first playthrough( and master key on later playthroughs), so people have kept looking for a use for the pendant. But so far, it does nothing. You can get every gift in the game anyway, even though master key allows more sequence breaking on first playthrough, you keep it in new game + though if you buy it, so it can't hurt to take the pendant since none of the gifts are all that useful. I doubt it does anything though. Perhaps the calamity ring can unlock its hidden power

Tbh though, you dont buy guitar hero games without getting a guitar. Why see it as different, in this day and age saying that mouse and keyboard are THE pc gaming tools is a bit silly. considering you can plug in an Xbox controller and dont even need to download anything, it just works, and since the controller is made by the people make your PC OS.

I leveled a new character to SL 25 and gathered 27 humanity so I could farm some titanite in the depths... I decided to get rid of Havel first. Well, I went in from the Darkroot Basin, via the bonfire in the cave leading to the Valley of Drakes. I died at the door, because I didn't realize he would be to the right of it (I thought he would stand directly in front of it so I was a bit confused when I didn't see him upon opening the door). Right when I walked in he one-hitted me.
Now that's not the sad part. The sad part is when I wanted to rush back to havel to quickly get my humanity back. I ran out of the cave, and made a left turn...
