I think the taurus demon can also be beaten with fists, naked. Just takes a longer while. Most of his attacks can be dodged by just walking backwards a little, then you can run forwards and do a running attack, and then walk backwards immediately again. If you don't go back too far, he shouldn't trigger any of his long range attacks.
That's how I dealt with the Taurus Demons before Lost Izalith, I think they're the same.
Also, if you have ranged attacks, you can climb up the ladder, shoot at him until he jumps up, quickly go half down the ladder, wait there until he jumps down again, and repeat.

I remember my first playthrough against him. Tried jumping down on him, got killed quickly after I landed. The next time I was pretty scared, so I ran up the tower and was just watching him for a moment. I was thinking, "Well, as long as I'm up here, at least I'm safe. Huh, he's actually looking up at me, that's kind of creepy. It's like he's--HOLY SHIT HE'S ON ME." >.>
But yeah, it feels pretty nice to just fight them straight up once you're buff.
|
I usually jump on him once to get him down a bit to make the fight faster, but really, there's no need, he's ridiculously easy to beat with normal melee. It's not like you're "stuck" with your starter weapon anyway, you can get quite a lot of good weapons before him, such as Uchigatana, zweihander etc. You also get pine resins, and a starter weapon with lightning beats him in no-time.

For darkroot garden, you can actually leave the zone while the fog gates are still up. You can fall into darkroot basin! From the crest door, if you follow the wall and drop off the cliff at the end, you'll end up on the switchback ramps, and lose about 700 hp from the fall, but it's doable. You can't get back into the garden or go anywhere else either, all the fog gates are in still in your way. They can't get you unless they know to come down after you.

Unless you meant that's what THEY can do, in which case fuck that that's so lame D:

finally realized that the silver pendant works in PvP against those damn OP dark spells. used them against this guy and he had no clue what to do since he was a pure dark mage and he couldn't do any damage to me at all lol

Yeah, that's what I meant, but it works either way so I phrased it to say how you could do it. It is kinda lame, but if they fall off there, they have to eventually give up if you don't come after them since there's no way back in. Searched darkroot once for like an hour for someone, and then fell off there and found him on the other side of the crest door.

They're probably waiting for other invaders because they are pussies and can't beat anyone themselves. The best fights are 1v2 anyway. If someone is really pissing you off like that you can always unplug the internet. But it shouldn't have to come to that, you shouldn't lose people in the first place. There are only 3 spots phantoms invade at, by the crest door, by alvina, and the clearing past where pharis was. If you stand by alvina, you'll immediately know where they are, right behind you from the sound, in front of you by the door by sight, or otherwise 40 feet to the left. And if they manage to outrun you constantly, then you are probably too slow to pvp very well anyway, you need to change your equipment to be at least at mid run speed if its not and just pop a green blossom and chase them down. Most people clear the forest of enemies while they wait anyway so theres nothing that will come help them kill you while you chase them down and slaughter their weak cowardly chars.

i invaded this guy, i was annihilating him and he had ~15% hp left and i was still at 100%, then he turns on HP hacks and gets all health back and i don't do any damage to him anymore. so i ran away (it was in oolacile township, after artorias) and i ran down the first long bridge that has 1 mob on it, and kept running all the way to the end. he caught up, and i thought of a strategy: kick him off the bridge. i started, and it was working, and right before he was about to fall off he dc's...pulled his plug since he was about to die. lol...

Yo FUCK I forgot about the blossom. Such a good idea. Been so long since I just pvp'd (grinding up a new char for it now) I forgot that item existed... Will try that shit later ha
I know about the spawn points, and I'm at full run speed lol. Like I said it's been a while, and on my previous pvp toon I never had to worrry about it because I got enough invaders that runners would either comeback when there were more phantoms, or I didn't have to care because I had someone to fight regardless.

pvp ... i dont get it.
what you do against magic? i am pretty tanky (i think), but i get like 3hitted from random magic in the pvp arena all the time. and like everyone seems to use magic. when i cant stunlock with my zweihander i might as well give up already. then there was this guy getting less than 150 dmg from a +5 lightning zweihander light attack and dealing massive dmg with normal swings that kinda got ranged attacks, what?
no fun ...

Most spells you can roll from. Silver Pendant also makes magic users have a difficult life, it's sort of a mandatory item for PvP, go pick it up from the DLC areas. They are usually pretty vulnerable to pivot-bs tactics too.

the nerfed dark wood grain ring is pretty underwhelming

no fun ... yeah magic can be a pain, the only reliable way to combat the new dark spells is to use the silver pendant, which negates 100% of the damage from dark spells. the normal magic spells are pretty easily dodged, and don't do as much damage as the dark ones do.
generally, if you are able to get into a sorc's face, then you will be able to win since they normally wear cloth armor and have very low or even no poise at all

I'm only level 25, but I've been summoned twice and I have summoned someone twice. It can take a while though for someone to summon you though.
