There is no saving in this game. You have to go from bonfire to bonfire which are your checkpoints. If you die you simply respawn there. If you quit the game then it will 'save' and let you continue from exactly where you stopped. edit* I want to make clear that this is specific game design and not because it's a bad port. If you could save in dark souls then frankly the game would suck.

The game autosaves you, you will never log out and come back rolled back or anything lost. Its a direct port, nothing is changed for the game except new content is added and some match making.

Even tho i m not 100% sure now with the comments about the controls ![]() Does it feel weird with keyboard and mouse or does it play ok and its just guys raging a bit cause the game is really hard? ![]() Thanks for the info! That seems to be a matter of judgment. Some say the mouse and keyboard is fine once you get the hang of it, some say it's unplayable. Most would probably agree that a controller is recommended though.

The game is completely broken if you allow quicksave, the game is supposed to be hard, that's the whole point. The game saves automatically everytime something happens, including minor things like getting soles (which you do after every single kill). If you die, you will always respawn at a bonfire and there is no way to "load" data, dying is punished, that's the point. You can quit the game anytime you want since it probably saved the game less than 20 seconds ago. It's a perfect system, it allows difficulty and can't be exploited, but still allows you to quit whenever.

That's not difficulty, that's just annoying. This is a wierd complaint. At least IMO, you should buy Dark Souls if you're sick of how simple and easy games have become, how little choice you get nowadays etc. It's definitely a game for the more hardcore crowd. Now... how could it ever be a valid complaint that the game gives you the freedom to explore areas "you're not supposed to go yet" if you want games with more freedom and less hand-holding? Besides, you should never be oneshotted in this game unless you're playing it incorrectly. Some people have more or less beaten this game with naked characters, you can dodge/block pretty much everything, it's ridiculously rare that you get killed and honestly can't kick yourself for it. You either need to go "This area seems a bit too challenging, I should probably check some other area out" or "This is hard, now I'm going to concentrate and beat it anyway". Going "wtf, why isn't the game telling me exactly where to go and which enemies to fight" is not the right perspective.

I had Orstein dead and Smough on one hit missing for the kill and that fat fuck does his retarded ass bomb out of nowhere and kills me. God I need a break from these two retards. Only reason I had a chance at all was because I had the Dragon Great Sword from Ashlake which luckily deals like 400dmg with its shockwave. I am so pissed off right now

Going "wtf, why isn't the game telling me exactly where to go and which enemies to fight" is not the right perspective. One example is in the Undead Burg, before you climb up the staircase to fight the Taurus Demon, you can go down the stairs and there is a giant thing in armor than can one shot me. Or go up in to the Castle Archway right before you fight the Taurus Demon, you can unlock the door in the lower level if you have the master-key gift from the start of the game. Walk down, huge dude in metal armor and a blunt 2-handed weapon, easy one shot again. Undead Parish, go up a staircase, go on top of the small building you're in, another one of those steel-clad giants. In my eyes, this doesn't make this game any harder. To be completely honest, nothing in this game has struck me as difficult yet other than the Taurus Demon who is really easy once you actually figure out what you're supposed to do. I just think it's annoying as hell to walk into a room and be killed in one hit if you miss a single block, while not being able to retaliate due to poor gear/stats.

I spoilered it just in case for those people who dont to know these things + Show Spoiler + The black knights are all optional mini bosses, theyre all located in side areas and you have no obligation to kill them. Except for the guy that gaurds the staircase with the blunt 2 hander, which you can easily run by if you feel like you cant take him on. They become piss easy anyway though when you find yourself a decent weapon, not to mention you can kill them with firebombs pretty easily.

Thing is, you're not supposed to fight these guys early, which is quite obvious if you get killed by them (though you have to be very sloppy to miss a block... I mean, you see them, you've never seen a similar enemy.. why would you go within fighting range without keeping your shield up?) You still CAN fight them early, and if you do, there are good rewards for doing so. Is it hard or difficuly? Well no, it's not "hard" to get oneshot if you're sloppy enough to get one-shotted... but yes, if you want to kill these guys early, you need to be pretty good at the game and concentrate, because they will one-shot you if you mess up.

You're not unable to retaliate, you just don't have any room to screw up because you'll get one-shot if you let them hit you. How does that not constitute difficulty? It may not be a difficulty you enjoy, but needing to learn how to fight powerful enemies and then execute a strategy perfectly... Yeah, I'd say that's difficult.
