I've got a PS2 controller through an adapter, z rotation and axis switched and some wrong buttons. And an old Thrustmaster, some buttons not recognized, z rotations = axis and axis not recognized, other buttons wrong... And there's no way to configure it for the game. What the hell how are you guys even playing -_-

You died. + Show Spoiler + ![]() What I hate about this game is that the difficulty itself doesnt come from the enemies, but the damn environment and the mechanics. If you miss one simple block, or if you attack one too many times and leave yourself open for one second, a simple grunt enemy can kill you. It requires _constant_ constant concentration which makes it so draining. Which means the difficulty is coming from the enemies.... That's the purpose of the game. There's no such thing as "grunt" enemies that you can just smash the fuck out of, they all pose a threat. Granted when you get to like four kings and shit you can smash anything in blight town. But if you're in the appropriate area it's a different story.

Happened to me too, had to laugh knowing I had to traverse the entire Blighttown again. By far my least favourite area of the game so far. lol... indeed. I felt like I was mashing my face against a spiked wall. The only way I finally managed to break through was by walking the entire way, slowly picking off each enemy and running back 20-30 steps every time a new one appeared so that I didnt get double teamed. If even one of those dart shooters tags you, it's pretty much 95% chance of death, I would either panic and fall off the ledge or simply die to toxin most of the time.

Believe me, you will praise my name for that advice. The spiders shield completely negates poison build up, not slow it. On August 26 2012 23:05 Fyrewolf wrote: Don't be human. You can only be invaded if you reverse hollowing at a bonfire. There isn't much point to doing so unless you want to be invaded, or kindle bonfires. One big benefit of being human is you can summon NPC's to help you with bossfights. It seriously makes some bossfights piss easy. If you're human then therell be a sign on the ground right before a boss fight which allows you to summon someone, if youre not human the sign simply wont be there.

For example, I saw a lot of people saying that the Capra demon was tough (I litterally beat him first time within about 2 minutes). My buddy who has played demon's souls before dark souls which, I haven't, said it took him 20-25 tries to beat the capra. So go figure. I do feel like my sorceries carried me through the first part of the game, but now in the swamp I am getting bludgeoned hard. The monsters down here are irritating as hell for ranged attacking.

Blighttown is a pain in the fucking ass Should be noted that one find the Eagle shield in blighttown, and it's arguably the best shield in the game, so it might be worth going through it anyway.

Eagle Shield isn't the best anymore, It was nerfed. The stability was nerfed slightly, block % was nerfed(now 95% instead of 100%) and Lightning resistance was slightly nerfed as well.

Apparently, the ninja ring only works at 25% encumbrance now (which makes sense, but that's a massive nerf).

Yeah, Dragonslayer spear weight got increased by one also, Moonlight Greatswords damage got nerfed as well. Those are the only things i've noticed so far though. I really do like the ninja ring nerf though, fighting people with stone armor set and black knights great axe who were using flip ring was annoying. Edit: I think the mask of the Mother got nerfed as well, I have it and it says 10% instead of 15% or atleast I thought it was 15%. I do like that they are nerfing things that were a little overpowered though, opens up more viable builds. Edit 2: Reddit Dark Souls Changes Discovered I googled what changed and found this.

What the hell how are you guys even playing -_- I had the same problem (using the same setup as you do) and there is a registry fix you can do in Windows to switch the axes around on the right stick. As usual with manual registry changes, they can make things really bad if you don't know what you're doing, so keep that in mind: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/dead-space/1388578-joypad-txt-doesnt-work-right-analog-stick-messed-up-perfect-camera-right-anlg-stick-fix.html The link is for Dead Space, but the fix worked like a charm for me, there are probably ways to fix the button mapping as well, but seeing as I have no idea how a X-Box controller is mapped to begin with, I just learned the buttons as I played.

Nah the difficulty def does come from the enemies...once you go through the game the first time 2nd and so on playthroughs are 100 times easier because u learn the enemy and boss patterns, best routes to take etc. ive beaten it about 4-5 times now and the last run I died very little vs any area or boss. I found blighttown to be the hardest part in the game first time trough so keep at it and you'll be in better shape after.

I've used a fix (manual) for this before, when some PES installment wouldn't work with the stick. In windows 7 i can't find the corresponding registry entries. However: i found a fix on the steam forums where people had a similar problem. There's a program called x360ce. Google it, put it to your Darksouls .exe, run it, fix your controller settings, save, close and play the game.

That's what I'm using right now, the x360ce (controller emulator), and it's working great. The buttons were mapped wrong at first, until I renamed the dll to the proper name. Or rather, just copied it four times and named them all the possible names since I'm lazy. So... is the Backstab Bow Glitch still in then? it's not in that reddit list. That's really odd that they made the eagle shield not a 100% physical shield, it's a freaking tower shield. And roll invincibility frames buff might help make dark wood grain ring less op.

Awesome that you found a fix for it, going to keep that program in mind for future use, not much of a reason to use it now when it's fixed on my machine ![]()

i decided to upgrade my zweihander, which is now at +10. then i read this: http://darksouls.wikidot.com/zweihander seeing that giving it lightning (which was the plan) will remove all stat bonuses. this kinda sucks for me, since i put a lot into strength (32). would it be a good idea to go +15 instead of lightning then? /edit oh another one. if i decide zweihander was a bad idea. i saw that blacksmith guy has can undo upgrades. what will happen then? do i get the resources back and/or the souls?
