This will not affect other players, as it all happens on the client side, not on the server. It's quite possible that people will find a way to convince the server to save those changes made to other player's cities, though.

Ahh yes, my Great Work Solar Fram is getting the materials it needs(But really slowly). I had to make another city that is purely to make alloys and plastic, and the e-con to buy CPUs. And I've been just leaving it run while I watch MLG.
Also I've made some police and fire helicopters to volunteer while i'm working my other city. ...But I'm not sure if or how that works, Does anyone know?
Started a new region on US West 1 called [TL]Daybreak. My time zone is Central Daylight Time -05:00. Its public, so anyone can join. Let me know if you want an invite.

Way to read the article:
SimCity has been a disaster in the media circles since launch all because of the DRM, and now things have gone to the next level as a hack has been discovered that lets anyone invade any of the online cities and lay waste to them...permanently.
So ya....they can fuck with people's shit and have it be permanent according to the article.

Way to follow the source given in the article.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I have NOT enabled syncing of data for this. All cities you see in this video remain UNHARMED - nothing got synced to server. I would not condone any action which could actually harm another player's city without permission!
So, this was done by editing the SimCity packages, tweaking some code, and getting the game to think that, when I visited a random person's city in a random region, I WASN'T in observer mode, and force enabling of edit mode so that I had full access to the city as if it was my own. There is still no city syncing at this most basic level, so you can wreak havoc on a friend's city, quit out, log back in, and it's back the way it was - great fun! I am worried about people that go deeper into the code and start spoofing the owner ID's of cities and start doing this maliciously though. Hopefully there are server side safeties on this... hmmm.
Lesson learned: Don't blindly trust what the media says. They tend to exaggerate things.
I don't think it is impossible to expand this hack to make the changes save on the server, but so far, no such hack exists yet.
Is anyone playing on europe 1? because i have no sim city friend, i play 3-4 times a week, and i would love to focus on 1-2 cities while other people i play with focus on other slots in the same area. so far i havnt gotten the chanse to coop with anyone because i find the "join game" section bugged and always full, so i cant join.
Tell me the username or region name, and ill join!

On [TL] Destination i am about 40% done with the great work. Would anyone else like to help? I will give up Day Break once I am done with the greak work, I am just using it as easy cash as I watch MLG
4 wells, 2 depots all full and i'm only at 108k barrels/day.i had no problem passing 160k on a different city with same set up but this region's freeway layout bottlenecks everything for me
