What i got from it is that there actually is better pathfinding that tried to find a quick route, but it has the problem of having a hard cutoff point for congestion tolerance. So 100% would use a dirt road that is only slightly shorter than an avenue to the same target, until it reaches a certain congested state and then everyone will switch, clearing the dirt road and everyone switches back. I hope they fix this by adding chances. at 60% congestion, 60% should take the alternate route or something.

It looks for the shortest route possible and takes that route, regardless of alternatives, road quality or current traffic. Which is quite mind boggling, really. It is absolutely trivial to at least add a weighing system so that big roads will be preferred even if they make the trip slightly longer, while heavy traffic areas will be avoided when there are longer routes, etc. its not true, they only take the shortest path until congestion makes them take another one. As i said, the problem is that there is a hard cutoff point and also the sudden change makes them drive U turns in the middle of congestion, which makes matters worse for everyone.

as i said, there seems to be a hard-cutoff at red congestion, that lane was orange. Which is the whole problem, they should make it so 80% of the sims dont take a orange street. Its all very wonky, but you can clearly proove that the pathfidning isnt THAT simple, just flawed. Make 2 paths the exact same length and one being dirt the other being high density and the sims will always take high density.

DA2 flopped because it was obviously rushed. the game was still really good. Reckoning only failed because of how the company bit off more than it could chew. the flop was only a few million sale rather than the 5 mil they needed to stay afloat. A reason why the Maps are so small are the SERVERS! If the Maps were bigger, the Game would be even more unplayable. ![]() Every intelligent player knew that the Mapsize wasn't that small because they wanted it that way, it was just a server-issue. And they can't change the Mapsize with the Online-Only-DRM.

Nobody would buy the "Bigger Cities" DLC.

Hmm...my friends and I have played on Oceanic/NA during peak periods without major issues. Sometimes we get the "connection lost" thing for a minute or 2 but everything is fine. Haven't run into major rollbacks or queues or anything like that. Guess we're just extremely lucky. Sucks that they still haven't sorted the server problems out though.

You mean that is the way EA works, they destroyed Star Wars The Old Republic (MMO), you must pay for new content, you must pay to wear epic item, you must pay to pvp, honestly for a "free" game they pigeon hole you into abysmal game play to force you to pay more money. Like many of the reviews on amazon have already pointed out the game costs 60$ but EA will charge you for railroads/airports/buildings/cities so just a warning to all of you who love the Sims. This game is not old game we love to screw around with, EA is trying to play sims with your wallet.
