I'm assuming that this is a single city problem, and not regional.

Claim a new city with plenty of water and export it to old.

If it is a regional problem, I haven't played around with the higher up trading buildings, but I am hoping that there is a way to import globally, I cant recall if you can send your water to the global market.

somehow not working.. and how do i clean up radiation?^^... ah my city is fucked! i was suddenly lacking skilled worker...dunno why. so i closed it and when i bulldozed it to use other energy sources it blew up.

Yeah. In region view other cities all say "0 simoleons 0 people, just claimed", even when they are massive 70k+ population cities that I have played for HOURS.

So the whole region play is broken then. Which is weird, why would it be broken for EU when it seems to work for US?

None of those games are really bad game, i mean just like completely broken unplayable games.. and none of them did poorly in sales people for the most part felt it was a game that was appealing to some people not to everyone but to some people. Yes DA2 was drastically different that pissed half of the long time DA1 fans for change in mechanics, yes ME3 had cop out ending that people didn't like but the rest of the game people liked just fine improvement in game mechanics of ME2 etc were all welcomed. SC5 server problems and a few disagreements in how some mechanisms ingame should operate. Didn't play or pay much attention to dead space series or reckoning, but i know they sold well. I'm telling you, play Simcity 4 with NAM.

SC4 is def not for everyone the amount of people that SC5 appeals to is probably more, SC4 is very tough to get into, SC5 is easier to get into hard to figure out some aspects of the game. And some things like traffic is poorly handled like it was in SC4 only made better though modding. SC4 is more about building one small part then balancing SC5 you don't necessarily need to do that or necessarily have to build a big city.

Yeah I managed to make the inter-city play works with my play last night. I manage to set up a city that would be utilities provider for my casino city. Also my sims would travel to work in another city too which cause me a traffic problem during morning and evening.


What is required? I have 60MW free (tradable) in city #1 (which I own). Both cities have same highway going through them. Yet when I go to my city #2 (new city, I own this too), it says that city #1 has 0MW tradable / doesnt offer anything.


There should be a setting on your power plant/s that you can check to let other cities in the region buy electricity from.


Are we talking about Sim City 2013 here? I only see two checkboxes in my oil power plant: "accept local oil" and "accept global oil"?


It sounds like there might be a bug on your region.

First you need to have excess in whatever utility
You have to be in region mode, loaded in the site that needs an utility an you can buy from there.

Also if you are loaded in a city (region mode) with an some services to spare like Fire/Police/Ambulance you can send trucks and cars over to cities that might need it.

This is correct, it's a bug in region play the servers are reaching stability for solo play but still some region play aspects are broken for some people and not for others. Also as far sending resources to yourself works just fine when region play is working, gifting resources is very iffy when you try to give it to yourself, gifting money to yourself doesn't work like half the time and the money just disappears or metal etc.

I think it still works it just needs to be pathed on the same road.Only issue here is that your water icon turns yellow because they're mad they aren't pumping new water.

Management structure? Play testing using europe as test cases or US as test cases for possible updates etc, help diagnose problems? Whole host of other possibilities dealing?

the treatment plant puts the water back into the ground, so it should work to have a pump there.
Also, if you have water on your city map, it will refresh groundwater for pumps.

my city just crashed and burned from enternal gridlock, i log off and get a patch that optimizes traffic xD.





Its also good to know that they are really wokring on the traffix thing. I expect them to make even more changes.
Guess thats the benefit of DLC, they need people to be happy with the game after purchase.

Casinos are dicks they just flood my traffic with never ending supply of yellow taxi's creating grid lock. I avoid some grid lock by mixing residential and commercial or residential and industrial(low income) it means things like 2000 sims all want to go to the same area creating traffic. But some things like casinos and public transportation sometimes still cause problems. Solving traffic isn't so clear up NAM for SC4 has what like 3 versions with billion test version which had some really broken things in them.

The original SC4 pathing algorithm was flawed and complex but it can be tweaked with mods. SC5 tried to alleviate that issue with a shortest path algorithm but the code is way too primitive because that one short route will be doomed to traffic issues as your city progresses.

That means that they are obviously not planning on shuting sc5 servers down anytime soon (response to our fear that in a few years EA decides the game is done and shuts everything off), BUT (and this to me is huge news if true) they are looking into patch an off line mode (even if it is for ONLY when they believe the game is done and want to shut the servers and move on) as something to earn our trust back after this fiasco (lol make us happy to buy simcity 6 by then ).

The first part could also be read as having a regular off line mode right about now but that would not go well with the question asked.

Reflects my thoughts on always-online DRM...
It creates hassle for legit players for a few more sells (and that's very arguable).

I remember a few years ago when the idea to fight piracy was to actually give legit consumers more stuff, like a good multiplayer, free DLCs etc.

The worst thing is that after such a move to reduce piracy, buyers get to pay more than your average pc game (60-80$ ?).

Sadly, EA will keep ruining franchises they own, sigh.

That doesn't work pirates just crack those and then pirates get everything and more actually has gotten to the point where the pirate gets all forms of buy first DLC, really the only people it acutally hurt were people who bought from a reseller party ie like gamestop. The only proven established way to crush pirating is to put it up on servers, eventually people get though shady channels the stuff off the servers but then you just crush illegal servers though legal means.


Actually, it would be best for everyone if all this DRM nonsense ceased entirely. Pirates are going to pirate games no matter what and all this DRM bullshit usually hurts the legit customers as it makes it harder for them to log-in/play/enjoy/whatever. It's been years since companies started this anti-piracy campaign and to no avail so far (SC2 was cracked even during the beta, go figure). Developers should just accept the fact that not everyone is going to obtain their product the way they'd like to and live with it.

As far as I know, people who can afford games and like the product have no real qualms of buying it instead of pirating. Hell, when I started working, got my regular cash inflow etc. I made it my mission to legitimately buy every single game I ever pirated and liked. Obviously I wouldn't pay for games I pirated but which turned out to be garbage.


So explain something to me: if you go into a restaurant and order a meal. They bring it out to you, you eat it, and you hate it. Do you get to get a refund? No. You ordered it, and you didn't care much for it. But the restaurant gets their money anyway..

Poor reasoning. In this case it's like getting charged full for half your dish size, particularly in the case of A:CM. The promise was not delivered. You can either refund my money or I will put your plate in your face, which is what people are doing to EA right now.

That means that they are obviously not planning on shuting sc5 servers down anytime soon (response to our fear that in a few years EA decides the game is done and shuts everything off), BUT (and this to me is huge news if true) they are looking into patch an off line mode (even if it is for ONLY when they believe the game is done and want to shut the servers and move on) as something to earn our trust back after this fiasco (lol make us happy to buy simcity 6 by then ).

The first part could also be read as having a regular off line mode right about now but that would not go well with the question asked.

SC4 is def not for everyone the amount of people that SC5 appeals to is probably more, SC4 is very tough to get into, SC5 is easier to get into hard to figure out some aspects of the game. And some things like traffic is poorly handled like it was in SC4 only made better though modding. SC4 is more about building one small part then balancing SC5 you don't necessarily need to do that or necessarily have to build a big city.


Vanilla SC4 pathfinding was decent, NAM made it better. The key problem in SC4 pathing was a question of scale...people wouldn't walk more than one block, and wouldn't take the train more, say, about 50 squares. That wasn't realistic. You could build up small city centers, but not full-scale cities. In vanilla SC4, you would end up with a "carpet" of about-the-same-density, because people would never travel far enough to create a true city center. NAM fixes that, so that people realistically travel miles to work, allowing you to build large concentrations, rather than just alternating zones of RCI. But if you want a city of 120k or so, it worked perfectly fine.

I'm not sure where you're getting "SC4 is more about building one small part than balancing". In SC4 it's vital to bounce back and forth between city blocks, and it's pretty much the key to success.

SC5 definitely looks easier, in a Nintendo-Wii-meets-Facebook kind of way. But anyone looking to re-create their SimCity 2000 childhood memories should get SC4. We've seen a lot of this recently. Civ5 is dumbed-down and terrible, so most Civ fans I know went back to Civ4:BTS.

This nostalgia thing can really get into people's heads. Civ5 is recognized by nearly every major publication and thousands of people as being a really really really solid game. People confuse THEM liking an older game better, with the new game ACTUALLY being bad.

Also, I predict tons of people buying the game on March 17th for the free EA game and server crashes all over again.
