Havent read the link yet, but that is quite a push back from one week away to two and a half months off.
Super sad about that... I'm curious to know what exactly they will be working on during this time: in two and a half months, they could do quite a lot.
I just wish they had put all their resources first into the PC version which was the best seller when the game came out and will be the most popular version with the enhanced edition.Mac is an extremely niche market same with Ipad.Working on releasing three versions of the game on the same date of course there will be big delays.
Hopefully they will add/fix quite a bit in that time frame, but it is a bit of a red flag to me to go from a week away from the announced launch date, to bumping it to the end of November. It seems like they must have known a lot sooner that they were no where close to ready, to need that much more time. No biggie though as long as it ends up being a quality release. There are plenty of other games coming out this month and next to take up all my free time.
So is end of November rather than just some time in November official? I was kind of hoping November meant Nov 1.
I really hope it is a not-buggy release in the end, it would be sad if it turned out clunky and patched together. I also hope the ipad version is really usable. I can imagine in theory it could work - mobile BG would be so great - but I just hope it actually is practically usable and not irritating to use.
It would be great if it was a really successful remake and was financial enough to end up in rereleases of Icewind Dale etc as well.
Obviously it would be a ridiculously large amount of work, but I'd love to see a BG game redone on an entirely different/"new" engine as well as maybe using new D&D rules (3.5/Pathfinder or 5th edition) and the new/updated items and spells that came with time as well.
I guess if that was done there'd be little-to-no point in using the same story that the existing games have, and hence it would really just be an entirely new game; It would still save SOME time and resources to use the existing story and sounds though.

Target release date is November 28th (said a couple times on Trent Oster's twitter).
@Xapti : they're talking about a BG3 with new engine if the remakes are successful. There's also Project Eternity in the same spirit which is probably going to kick some ass, so don't lose hope!

There is this Mod for Dragon Age which tries to redo BGII in the DA:O engine. Only the first chapter is done, but the screens look great. However, the question is if it ever will finish, and when.
Final release date is 28th of November. @HaXXspetten It's only possible to purchase the game via the site posted above, but you do not need their Beamdog client for that (which I think is good). @lynx.oblige
Pre-load is available for those who have pre-order. There's also a nice gameplay video on their website. Got to say, I'm so excited for next Wednesday!
Here's the gameplay video for those who are wandering
To me it's pretty good, you are still playing an oldie but it seems more fluid and more smooth to play. The quick glimpse at the quest journal or the inventory makes me happy cause you can see that those features have really been enhanced.
Graphics however stayed the same in my opinion except for a few welcomed tweaks,
