Jan- Oh, sure we’re his best friends now that we’re going to go and steal him a nice brand new ship and everything. And once we gotten it for him, you think he’ll still be so nice? Reminds me of my Cousin Bureaugarde. The most selfish gnome you’ve ever seen, he wouldn’t give you a spare turnip for anything. Well okay there was that one time he gave a turnip to Uncle Scratchy, but Uncle Scratchy had him held over a vat of boiling ---
Amok- Alright, Jan. I think that’s enogh. I get the point.
Jan- Well, fine. I just wanted to point out that Bureaugarde was eaten by a griffon that was terrorizing the hillside and he gave the beast fatal indigestion. So sometimes even the most selfish of us can still give.

If this is on the level then i am beyond happy. Just dont screw it up.

Hah, Jan was awesome for the comedy value.. Too bad he wasn't too good as a illusionist/thief

What? Jan is awesome. You can use him regardless of your party's alignment, both his thief and mage skills are very useful, and he's a much more interesting character than Yoshimo or Nalia.

There can be no game without Jan.

With open locks at 60, Nalia can hardly be called a thief. She's just an unspecialized mage that can use a bow.

I loved using Jan. Yoshimo was overpowered because traps were overpowered, but Jan was funnier and his weapon was actually quite useful (though I don't remember the specifics, something about launching status causing skulls...it's been like 5 years).

I really hope this doesn't turn out to be one of those games where I have to pretend it doesn't exist, like Star Wars Episode 1.
|
Oh dear. Now we'll all have to keep our fingers crossed till the game comes out, hoping they don't screw it up.
Well fingers crossing fingers here, hoping Atari wants to make a serious effort in rejuvinating the franchise.

I strongly suspect it's going to be a mobile port of the original games.
|
This'll be a phone / facebook game, or will turn out just like Dragon Age 2 and Dungeon Siege 3.
|
Don't know if its been mentioned, but some people are speculating this might just be hype for BG1&2 re-releases that may be appearing on steam sometime in the near future. Seems plausible given the portraits and references to the original games

Yup everyone who is thinking this will be a new game is dreaming. This is port of the BG/BG2 to tablets or something.

Apart from the alignment, there are way better options for both thieves and casters - At least if you are going for the most effective/well working party that you can put together - I can 100% appreciate if thats not what you are going for in this game though :-)

Quick question. I just bought SoA and ToB expansion, nostalgia... So I'm wondering, if i select ToB can i play through the whole content with add-on changes included or do i have to choose Shadows of Amn first, play it through and then choose to play ToB?

You can go straight to ToB yeah.

Thank you

Holy shit.
Probably just a port or something... but one can hope for a BG3, not quite sure it could ever live up to it's predecessors though.
|
Why so must hype for just a port or re release ? It HAS to be a new game !
There's no point in buying games we already have...
