Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu declares for NFL draft.
He's an amazing talent at CB and as a punt returner (former Heisman finalist), but he has a history of marijuana abuse, including an arrest, a suspension last year, and most notably, being kicked from the team (LSU) this year.
ATLANTA -- New Orleans Saints players say their bus was pelted with eggs by airport workers after they touched down in Atlanta.
Tight end Jimmy Graham, linebacker Will Herring and quarterback Chase Daniel tweeted about the incident Wednesday night at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The Saints (5-6) face the first-place Falcons (10-1) on Thursday night at the Georgia Dome. New Orleans has won four straight and 11 of 13 in the series, including a 31-27 home win over Atlanta on Nov. 11. It remains the only loss for the Falcons (10-1), who otherwise have dominated the NFC South race.
Graham wrote on Twitter: "Bus just got egged after landing in ATL by the ramp workers. Classy!"
Daniel tweeted, "Wow ... we start getting eggs thrown (at) us by airport workers! Guess they do hate us!"
Herring seemed amused by the incident.
"First time my bus has been egged by opposing fans!" he tweeted. The game "should be fun!!"

Stay bad, Falcons.

Minnesota has a history of bad qbs never getting better. No one in minnesota wants another tarvarus jackson experiment. I don't want to think about what we'd have to give up to get smith though. No ones going to want to touch ponder with a 6 foot pole now and there isn't a chance in hell adrian or percy are going anywhere.

Ponder doesn't look like anything other than a backup, but he is still young. He'll get another year to prove himself, I think. That is probably the best landing spot for him off of that list though. They at least have a run game, decent te and a WR who excells at underneath routes. The line is meh, and so is the D though.
Arizona might take a stab. But they have absolutely no line and no run game. Fitz is great but his skills would be totally unutilized with Smith throwing to him. Though it couldn't be much worse than it is now.
Smith will get destroyed in Philly because that line is Bears level bad. Vick, as much as he is an overrated average qb protected by a scheme that benefits his limited skillset, was fast enough to make it look decent for a bit there. It isn't. It is awful.
River isn't going anywhere. That's insane.
KC, I really hope he doesn't go there. Smith deserves better.

The Niners may try to trade him, but I think that it is more likely that they just cut him after the season. Cutting him would actually be the decent thing to do in this circumstance. Regardless, they are going to get rid of him one way or another to dodge the $8.5 million bonus/cap hit due to him next year.

Also, for tonight, who is ready to hate on the Falcons? Worst 10-1 team ever.

Lastly, can we agree that the NFL Network needs to take these Ceelo game intros out behind the shed and shoot them when this season is over?
|
It is a successful Saints season if we go 2-0 against the Falcons.
|
Not sure why when you have 12 seconds left in a half with no time outs and you throw a 3 yard pass to the 5.

Whoa, Brees did not throw a single TD.

Yes, oh god yes. I don't have any problem with Ceelo's music, but it's like he didn't put any effort into those intros. They sound fucking horrible.
As for the game, well... it's hard to complain about the Falcons given that they won the game, but damn the offense didn't get anything done after the first quarter. 1-11 on third down and 283 yards? Ugh. Despite the 10 point win, I don't think anyone's opinion of the Falcons is going up from this game. As much as I hate the Saints and love seeing Brees's TD streak snapped in Atlanta, ultimately the Saints don't matter this year and I don't see the Falcons competing well in the playoffs. It WAS nice to see the defense get some INTs since those have been sorely missed in the last few games and were a large part of the team's hot start.

It's goddamned good thing that I am not betting real money against the Falcons. I hate this team.

I really hope KC doesn't try to get Alex Smith. KC is due for a new coach, a new GM, and a QB that they can finally call their own.. Geno Smith.
I laugh at how the media is talking about how bad Philly has it and is jumping on their side.. you guys have no idea how bad KC has had it. Absolutely no idea.

Falcons look ugly every week, but they get it done! Go Dirty Birds!

That's really interesting. I expected him to come back to college with a non-FBS team (much like Janoris Jenkins) and try and reclaim his stock through that. Really big risk for him that he will end up undrafted and not find a spot on an NFL roster though given his history.

11, 30, 14, 32, 1, 17, 12. Matt Ryan's fake football output the last few weeks. What in the flying fuck.
I've got him and Roddy White. That absolutely killed me down the stretch in my fantasy leagues.

Apparently, Brees throwing INTs are the only thing preventing opposing teams from racking up 400+ yards of offense against the Saints. Even then, 49ers last week were barely under 400.

Poor alex smith "it feels like all I did to lose my job was to get a concussion".

haha, so much for high scoring track meet predictions. Very disappointing game for Julio Jones/Roddy White/Drew Brees/maybe even Matt Ryan fantasy owners. Could cost some people a spot in the playoff.

Sort of reminds me of 2010 when Kolb lost his job to Vick basically for getting hurt (ribs was it?). Of course unlike Smith, Kolb wasn't as established as a starter, since it was his 1st game for the Eagles, and he was out for much longer, but I guess when the backup QB is promising, that's what happens.

They need a competent quarterback right now. Obviously, KC is also going to look at drafting a new a new QB, but I think letting the rookie develop from the sidelines for at least a season is a good idea.
