Obviously, KC is also going to look at drafting a new a new QB, but I think letting the rookie develop from the sidelines for at least a season is a good idea. Manziel is going to end up in KC. When your fans cheer at your #1 QB getting hurt, and you have Brady Quinn as your backup, and you (will likely) have the worst record in football and the #1 pick, you draft a QB.

Really big risk for him that he will end up undrafted and not find a spot on an NFL roster though given his history. I think if he gets clean and has a good showing at the combine/pro days, he'll find a team. He's first round talent that you can probably get on the second day of the draft. Johnny Manziel is only a freshman, so I really hope the Chiefs don't have the #1 pick in another two years (or three if he stays all four years) ![]()

Anyhow its a great tradgedy ofc. Edit: Maybe not, he thanked the coach and GM for what they had done for him.

I'm like in shock right now, he wasn't a bad linebacker and was really good at stopping the run. IIRC he wasn't even drafted, he worked his way up to where he is right now. It amazes me that somebody in that position could feel so bad about life when so many people would love to be in that spot. I don't mean to make him out to be the victim, because he was the one that did the killing, but it's just sad. ![]()

They are nearing the end of a really bad season and now have to deal with the death of one of their teammates. I'd love to comment and tell you how the games are meaningless right now, but I'd be wrong. I don't know if an NFL team has ever had a regular season this bad, and I don't mean just the games. First there was a murder-suicide of an employee at Arrowhead Stadium back in August or September I believe. Obviously there's been a lot of drama on the team, the media on them constantly. And now there's this.. Like, I'm obviously not even remotely close to the situation and I feel pretty heartbroken about it. Imagine being another linebacker and looking over for communication and realizing he's not there anymore.. As it stands, the game is still on. If I was Clark Hunt (Chiefs owner), I'd hold a team meeting and hold a vote on whether they play. If they vote no, I'd forfeit and deal with the fallout from Goodell. If the players want to play though.. well, I know there's a lot of Chiefs fans that have been rooting for them to get the #1 pick. But for just one game, I hope the stadium is full again and the fans are behind every single player's back all the way.

Andre Johnson @ TEN Hakeem Nicks @ WAS Cecil Shorts @ BUF Torrey Smith vs. PIT Pierre Garcon vs. NYG Golden Tate @ CHI Justin Blackmon @ BUF The only truly obvious sit is Tate. I'll probably sit Smith because Pit has a good pass defense, though he's at home and he's been great at home. Johnson has been on fire the last 2 weeks, but I'm unsure how much longer that will last. Also, he probably has the hardest matchup other than Tate and Smith. Nicks hasn't been performing that well, but he's finally getting healthy and the Giants seem to get better in December. Shorts has been consistently good for most of the season. Garcon gets a ton of targets in that offense and benefits a lot from defenses committing to shutting down the rushing of RG3 and Morris. Blackmon is a bit of a wild card, but it's hard to ignore the last 2 weeks he's had since Gabbert went down. Thoughts anyone?

Johnson is hot, and I tend to think that there are going to be some points scored in that NYG/Skins game.

It's not like they needed additional hardships given how their season has gone...
