On a similar note, I find it curious that some people here really bash the Complete 2009 mod, whereas is seems that most other communities give the mod very high praise. If it weren't for the extreme criticism expressed here over Complete 2009, I would have installed that mod without batting an eye. As it stands now, I'm more reluctant.

I really like the sense of realism this game gives you, like how everything in your inventory has weight including the attachments on your gun, ammo, and food; how accurate and powerful pistols are vs. rifles, how your head shakes when you run, how darkness is fucking DARK, how you need to eat occasionally to live, how shitty the SA80 is, how people get wounded and fall down occasionally instead of just straight up dying, and a lot of other stuff that I can't think of right now. The only things this is really missing are flashlight batteries, gas mask filters, and water lol I do have a few problems with this game though: 7.62x39mm is WAY TOO FUCKING UNCOMMON... Seriously, I found fucking 9x39mm and an AS Val, both of which are pretty much only used by special forces and are extremely rare IRL, so far and I haven't seen a single gun chambered in 7.62x39...

Some of the stuff in 2.0 looks absolutely amazing, and given how well-polished 1.0 was, I fully expect this mod to devour countless hours of my life. Yeah i dont mind the delay too. They have done a great job with 1.0 and i expect nothing less from 2.0 so they can take all the time they want to finish this! New peek about fiction from a few days ago. These guys are bloody amazing! http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/images/a-word-on-fiction

Not sure if my flashlight is bugged or something though, I have to keep pressing L repeatedly for it to shine. (I know that the basic flashlight can only be operated with one hand, but it doesn't work even when my hands are empty. Maybe I need to find a battery pack for it or something) There are *so* many new items that it actually feels a little bit overwhelming. Assuming everything works as intended though, it really should change gameplay drastically, in terms of forcing you to manage your resources and make decisions differently. Misery 1.0, while being more dynamic than vanilla Pripyat, basically still only had ammo, health, and artifact management. Now there are so many items and effects that it feels like a "survival" simulation, where you consider the calories of a particular item but also have to take into account its unintended side effects. In the original, the only item with similar properties was basically vodka.

The mod still has alot of ctd problems especially if you try to talk to an npc that has surrendered and with weapons and armor upgrades but overall its stable. The new patch 2.0.1 http://www.miserymod.com/?p=368 get it if you havent already. As far as i know there should be a new patch coming in a couple of days and there is a hotfix for upgrades somewhere flying around on their forums but i dont know where i found it. Most fixes require a new game start to work! If you still have problems with ctd this might help http://www.miserymod.com/?page_id=454 About the mod: They have done a great job so far. Atmosphere and stealth is really nice and i like all the new toys alot IED <3. But it still has alot of edges they have to work on but overall its really good. For my taste still a bit to easy but there will be a harder version some time in the future after they ve done fixing.
