The real problem is that Hunter is a horrible coach and his 'system' relies on his goalie being a super man 24/7. Obviously Ward has done some good things in these playoffs. Unfortunately, he just had an epic mishap this game. You win some, you lose some. I cant say Im a fan of Hunter's style, but it looked like he opened it up a bit more this game at the end. The Caps definitely had some chances to put the game away and just couldnt quite do it. On May 08 2012 11:22 StarStruck wrote: Wow that was a bullet. Great shot. Caps shot themselves in the foot. Semi-ironic comment to me since when I first saw the replay I thought the shot ricocheted off Laich's foot. It appears it actually went off his stick after another look though but I still had a small chuckle at first.

Yea they did, in the third period. They were lucky they survived the first down only 1-0. Even a team with an offense as anemic as the Rangers will get some goals through though. Honestly, with the way Holtby played if Bodreau was in charge I could actually see this team do even better. The only thing that Hunter has done right was limit the damage the two Alexes do to their team on defense by limiting their ice time.

Kings versus Yotes will be interesting. I still think the Kings will come out on top though.

If anyone is deserving of victory in the NHL its Shane Doan so I'll be rooting for Phoenix

Flyers defense was terrible at many points and the whole team was just outworked. Not changing their strategy for gaining the offensive zone killed the offense, I really wish they didn't let goalies play the puck with impunity since goalies like Brodeur and Turco just have a fucking field day out there.

If they have the puck handling abilities like those two. GL with your dump-in's. There's a reason why a lot of people consider Marty one of the best goaltender's of all-time. If not the best.

Instead of blaming their anemic offense, boneheaded-take-penalty-at-dumbest-moments attitude to hockey and one of the worst defenses I have ever seen on television they will pour buckets of shit on Bryzgalov. Long term contracts, dumbest innovation to hit the NHL ever. Owners and GMs have got nobody else to blame but themselves for giving these ridiculous contracts. Why should the NHL have to save owners from their own stupidity and lack of foresight? They have plenty of loopholes to get out of it or minimize its damage anyways - sending players to the AHL, front-loading, etc...

The problem with the league is that its a closed monopoly so that even idiotic GMs/owners linger on and on. Its unfortunate that ice rinks are so expensive and so few cities can accommodate professional hockey because I'd love to see a relegation system to punish stupidity.

Would be nice to see the AHL and ECHL act as secondary and tertiary leauges teams need to work theirway out of to get into the NHL. The whole thing would need to be started from scratch though and would take alot of work to figure out. The NHL needs more owners willing to look outside the sphere of regulars for people who are worthy of a job. I would love it if NHL GM's couldn't work for another team once they were fired. Would probably fix alot of problems

Washington has shown to be the more resilient team this playoffs, coming back from disappointing losses to win important games. Rangers have not scored in 5-on-5 play in awhile and are still having a weak PP. I see Caps advancing to face the devils, winning a close game this Saturday. I want more Caps hockey in the next few weeks.

Glad we're getting another Game 7. I honestly don't care who wins because I like both teams. Then again, I'm sort of pulling for Ovi because I want to see him do well.
