Actually, the hammer 1 hit kills everyone except heavies with either A) iron halo or B) feel no pain... so picking Killing Blow makes the class specialized at killing those specifically... total waste to me...

Consider that the perk for Death from Above doubles the slam damage from dealing 2/3 shield, to dealing full shield and 1/3 hp... also consider that
Hammer takes 1 hit to kill
Axe takes 2 hits to kill
and sword takes 3 hits to kill
(unless perks are involved)
therefor, the death from above perk leaves nearly every class vulnerable to a "1 hit kill"

Personally, the melee weapon doesn't actually matter because the best combo is Death from Above + Charge, because the damage from both can kill...

When forced to pick a weapon, I suggest the chain sword or power sword because it enables you to change direction and react faster to a dodging enemy... just my two cents

Of course, if your not confident, then Final Vengeance + Swordsman Zeal is probably the best way to go, and throw in some combat stims for health and damage resistance...

I'm enjoying this game quite a bit. The swordman's zeal and Impenetrable is pretty sweet and lets you stay in the fights much longer, more or less as long as you have people in stabbing range(or some one has a melta gun or plasma cannon).

The tactical is my second favorite, get the duel weapon perk and the plasma rifle and stalker bolter is pretty versatile

haha yup that too, it is a total waste but they always tell me they are killing havocs for me haha

btw great info. did you test the damage and stuff yourself? I never knew death from above did that much damage. really amazing, will have to do some of my own testing.

ooo as an assault/raptor only player, do you suggest using combat stims instead of frags? the combat stims seem to have an animation and you cannot shoot during that time, are you not vulnerable to die? I feel like they leave you vulnerable to get shot at while you are stimmed.

I prefer blind grenades on assault. It's no trouble picking off stragglers but when it comes to well placed Devi man or multiple enemies on a point, I find that a good old blind grenade with a timed jump (blind grenades take a little longer to go off than a frag) means that you can cut down one defender and jump away safely or get the other dude.

I also have blind grenades on my melta class. I have my melta charge and serrated blade on him so if I whiff the melta then I can just stab 'em up. The blind grenades are so perfect for that class and I've started using the melta Gears of War-shotgun style, roll into them and MELTAS BABY.

It's hard trying to choose which class to play now. I used to have my standard plasma gun/sbolter but I hardly use it now :[

So, on my first day I used almost only the Stalker bolter ... took yesterday off from using it (trying to get perks for other guns lol).
I think I've lost my touch (not that I'm very good anyway).

Also, I'm running Teleport homer on just about all my Tactical loadouts, but people so rarely use it ... le sigh.

Anyway, Assault marines offer a lot of great things like back-capping points, suicide bombing points to clear out a hardened area, and really annoying point defense.

In a good skirmish, I can open for my team by dropping 2 frag grenades on a point, ground pounding a random Devastator with a quick follow up, and start off a fight with 2-4 kills while the rest of my team is still getting in position.

Tactical Marines are definitely my least favorite option, but I think that has to do with being low-level and not having a lot of options as far as weapons/perks.

It would be awesome if Relic would release a multiplayer demo so I could show some friends how much fun this is. Just one map (Shattered Bridge or Hab Center plz) and no or minimal unlocks available.

On a sidenote, how the fuck are you supposed to get the Armor of Hate set? That's the one where you need a certain amount of "Grudge Kills" for, those being "Kill the same enemy five times in one game." They either wanted to implement something that you have to wait months until you unlocked it to keep you "motivated" or they're just trolling. I mean they practically encourage you to farm it in private games. How many grudge kills do you have?

I wasn't even aware what Grudge kills were.That definitely sounds like the hardest set to acquire, but most Seize Ground games last long enough to have a chance at getting one.

Wouldn't mind seeing them reduce the numbers of "Grudge Kills" for the set though.

I have 15 at the time of me posting this (level 24).

That's right, I probably play too much Annihilation lately. I like Seize Ground more, but I rage too much at stupid teammates in this mode.^^

Found a hacker tonight, chocopaw and yurten were present. This guy called spice and flow was immune to damage. Melta gun to the face with the health scan perk and he was taking 0 damage while spawncamping and shooting people from point blank range.

A game where the first thing you do is scout with a “worker”. Does that make any sense? Who scouts with a “worker”? That’s like sending out the janitor to perform recon, what general would do that? Retarded game.

We have completed testing on the patch and have submitted to Sony. We are doing everything we can to get this patch released on PSN as soon as possible.

PS3 NAT Issues:
This is a UI bug and is not something that is affecting your online performance. We have a fix coming to resolve this improperly reported error in the upcoming patch.

Multiplayer & Singleplayer Progression Reset:
Make sure to enable Steam's Cloud Option on your system to allow your rank to keep tracking. We understand the Challenges are still not tracking properly and have a patch in the works to address the issue.

Steps to turn on Steam Cloud:


1.) Open Steam
2.) Click the Steam Option int he upper Left
3.) Select "Downloads + Cloud"

Against All Odds" Progression Issue [PC]:

Iron Halo / Shield Boost:
During the campaign a few users have noticed the graphical glow and change in visuals on the Iron Halo might disappear after saving the game and returning. Our team is aware of the issue and is working out a fix for this. The actual shield boost is still present and you still benefit from the boost, but the graphics are not displaying properly.

Achievement Unlocks:
We are aware of a handful of achievements that are not unlocking properly. We are looking into these issues and should have an update soon.

Pre-order Skins Not Showing Up / Working:

Matchmaking on PC:

Killing Blow - Thunderhammer & Maul
Many users have been talking about the "Killing Blow" and how it is not always a one shot kill. Well it won't always be... Why you ask? Space Marine takes in consideration of glancing hits, so you might think your hit was perfect, but if you're not straight on with the enemy it will calculate as a glancing blow and do secondary damage.

PC Sound & Lag Issues:
We are very much aware of the issues the community has repeorted in regards to lag, sound stuttering and overall sound issues. We are still working to reproduce these errors within all our QA facilities. Most of these issues have been resolved with some simple driver updates, but we are also aware that some users are not having success with new drivers.

Loadout Issues:
We are aware of a bug that has been forcing Assault selections to be Tactical selections. We are working to address this issue.

So we're trying to get some IH games done, both for fun and to test stuff/farm achievements. If anyone knows how to set up events on steam groups that'd be great.
