Added dynamic player culling to prevent players and weapons poking through thin walls and revealing their position
Dafaq tho, no more nublets poking their weapons through walls and calling walls?
Hey that's actually pretty cool. If only they could make it so that the player model matched the 3rd person model so you don't stick your gun barrel a foot out past the ledge by mistake.
After few games, I kinda like this patch. I was always looking for excuse to use M4A4 and now I finally can. One thing I'm not impressed with is those change-of-weapon animations. It doesn't feel right. F.e. if you shoot with AWP and in between shots switch to knife, your animation model is really strange. I wonder what happens to hitboxes (hands) while doing this.
The hitbox change seems amazing when playing on lan vs bots, the shots really register better. It also felt better at close range when playing on faceit, having 60+ ping kind of screws long range up anyway on moving target (that and playing against fishy people making it hard to judge). I expect them to rebalance the m4a1s again, but the hitbox/models change is great in my opinion. I didn't notice a performance drop either (240fps minimum at spawn on cache, which is the usual, 250+ on mirage), I guess it's really system specific and should eventually be fixed too. I don't understand how people can even complain when Valve finally step up to fix their shit, the crouching/ladder/jumping/moving hitbox fix is simply amazing.
Sure, but it's nothing they can fix I suppose. After so much time asking for these kind of fixes, I think waiting a few weeks for them to fix technical issues is bearable Didn't know about the RoF bug, might explain why I struggle to kill people when my friends have a better time with lower ping.
no, the armor penetration change is bugged and only changed in the menu, not the actual gun, so it's still decent. Unless you get the RoF bug, then it's garbage.
Just played a game where I had 35-40 ping, it was indeed clearly better (weow dem crazy ass ak headshots). However MM is still full of dodgy people, rip.
Finally. Fixing hitboxes should have been done years ago instead of churning out skins and operations. I basically lost a third of my FPS though. I was lagging a bit for one game, but I assumed it was due to servers updating or whatever. Hitting headshots seems a lot easier now.
